You know you are a frequent flyer when ...

.... when you book one-way flights for wife/daughter to return from Thailand and sitting in VA Lounge this morning bored waiting for flight, start looking at flights to go back and escort them home. ;)

Budget tight but worry about that later. Want to see my house now not April.

That reminds me of another reminder ...

A friend of mine said she was going to Europe. So I said I would travel to the airport with her. It took her a while to realise I meant SIN, not MEL. 🤣

I'm taking my two daughters and granddaughter on two separate trips in the next few months, one to Cambodia, and the other to Japan. They are amazed at how I can memorise the airports, hotels, transport, etc., to the point of being blasé. But what I do love about both of them is that "travel adrenaline" which I see/hear in them getting ready for the trips. The excitement of what to pack, where are the markets, and what to buy and see is wonderful. Sadly I lost that 15 years ago.

Based on Skyring's signature: "You know you travel too much when you have a favourite airport trolley", here are some of my (self indulgent and mostly true) experiences:

... you can't remember the last time you bought toiletries, and those you did buy are printed in a foreign language.

... your laptop automatically connects to every airport/hotel lounge wi-fi network you visit.

... you know the airline timetable better than your local train timetable.

... the hotel lounge attendant serves your drink without being asked - even if they are new.

... you don't need to show your FF card to enter the airport lounge.

... your friends don’t ask what you did on the weekend, but where you went.

... your friend, who has a standing order for you to buy duty free alcohol asks you to stop buying it because they have enough.

... the flight attendants recognises you before you recognise them.

What makes you a frequent flyer?
…..you can greet cabin staff by name.
