"I am fingering the hostess but she is not coming!*bong bong bong bong*" :)

this ad. I love this song by Lisa Gerrard. Can't believe it wasn't mentioned earlier in the thread, it's only of the best ads ever...

I also am a fan of the flower duet and aria ads by BA.

The Lisa Gerrad song on QFs ads as been discussed somewhere on here before. Love the song, the ads I could take or leave.

Virgin Australia have done a great start up advert.

A few of my favourites.

Frontier Airlines, each aircraft features a different animal.

And an Ansett one from 1997, maybe its been mentioned but nothing wrong with mentioning it again.

And part of the Air New Zealand nothing to hide.

YouTube - ‪Air New Zealand staff have nothing to hide‬‏

Can't believe I forgot that NZ ad. Brilliant ad :)

I like that Air NZ try to do different things - even if sometimes they turn out tacky

IMHO, what was better, was that they carried it all the way through to their safety demos.

Nothing like some eye candy with a hope that you may glimpse naughty bits through excellent body paint, to keep your eyes glued on the screen :D

I'd love to see the Laker Sky train ads again (I remember the sensation about Sky Train at the time but barely remember the ads.), but I can't find anything other than the Sky Train package holiday ads. :(

Gumpy, I totally agree with your choice. It's slick, stylish and makes me want to fly with them, which is the idea after all. It still gives me slight goosebumps when I watch it. It just works.

Without doubt some of the funniest Airline adds are the Frontier Airlines add from the US, have a look for Frontier yellow snow on you tube. There is a whole series of them and they are just brilliant.

Frontier Airlines is also pretty good aas far as US Airlines are concerned as well. I was on a flight from DC to LAX via DEN on Sunday and the care staff showed for an elderly passenge was excellent, the crew were happy and relaxed like you see on Virging Australia, very rare in the US. Newer aircraft as well with TV's in the back of the seats.

I've always liked the Qantas "I still call Australia home" ads, they always stir a bit of national pride in me,but to be honest my all time favorite would have to be the "Singapore Girl" series, they have always struck me as having the three factors that I consider vital in any television ad for any product, they need to be classy, with a simple premise and most importantly make you remember the product,I think the current Singapore girl ad is probably one of the best ever,it's gentle, doesn't assault you with loud music, does the job of promoting the product very well and for me is simply a stunning ad that as soon as I see it on tv makes me think of Singapore Airlines-which is surely what they want,it's just great.

Not at all, I also loved the Rico campaign, very funny and made me take notice of their new hard product.

But as with tuppaware and others, BA's Lakmé commercial takes the cake.

Generally i love the Virgin approach - hip, flashy, a sense of urgency, attention grabbing, and fun! Makes me think of them as the sexy and stylish airline/s to fly.

SQ - the older Around the World with Singapore Girl ads were awesome for their time (can't find them) but the current ones are rather old school and passe.

We'll have to agree to disagree. :) It does work very well with their marketing of the iconic and almost legendary Singapore Girl - warm, gentle etc but for some reason I find it a little cliche and lacks the glam I associate with the Singapore Girl ads.

Founded an older Singapore Girl ad that I like:
YouTube - ‪Singapore Airlines‬‏

And older iterations of it. Their best ones were in the late 80s and 90s.

edit - found some of them from the 80s/90s:

Back in the days when everyone at an airline worked together, as a team - to make your interstate business flight an absolute pleasure.

Out to win your business, by ensuring their airline was your airline! Which of course at the time, it was. LOL
(P.S. love the tyre kick.)

And this one, in quintessential 80s style, proving that one airline brand could indeed target multiple market segments simultaneously:!:
