Left: Scheibe SF-25 Falke used for initial training. Right: Schempp-Hirth Nimbus-2 - 20m wingspan open glider


Left: Blanik L13 two seater Right: Glasflügel H-201B Standard Class 15m wingspan (you wore it more than sitting in it - with the bubble canopy you had a 360deg view)


Left: ES59 Arrow - Australian designed and built 13m wood & fabric single seater Right: ES52B MkIV Kookaburra Two Seater trainer (me on the flight line after just going solo)

I tend not to take photos from the plane however when I saw the thread I was determined to add a 2020 photo. This is MEL taken on 4 Dec travelling to the 2020 AFF #14 Gathering in CBR and then forgot to post it. Happy new year and hopefully 2021 will be a better year for travel.

Crossed that bridge Feb 6 & 10 last year, and believe me... no one was using it LOL. We were the only pax on the bus, Macau was in lock-down.

Actually it was my second ever arrival onto the new runway, which was surprising because my first time went over the top of the CBD (which was a bit of a shock at the time, I thought the pilot got lost).

Came across this photo taken by my later Father-in-Law around 1976 on his one and only return to his homeland after emigrating here in 1946. His was one of those war love stories, met his wife on shore ;leave in Sydney, had to return with his ship to UK to be demobbed, and then by ship back to Australia.

I'll post a few of my favourite snaps below, but I'm sure other AFFers have much better photos! Please feel free to share yours in this thread.

Don't think its Heathrow, as BCAL flew from Gatwick.

Think this likely to be London Gatwick as BCAL did not operate from London Heathrow.
