YUPP Season

Personally I prefer Feb/Mar & Sep/Oct

Miss the high seasons, and most weather events (I stress most)

The best thing is, both those time periods have events I need to travel to.

For example next month I will be doing SYD-AKL-LAX-DFW-CMH-ORD-MIA-MCO-MIA-ORD-CMH-DFW-LAX-LAS-LAX-BNE-SYD

WP retention in one trip (QF flights JASA, AA flights all YUPP's)

Last year I messed up and did CMH-JFK-MCO-JFK-CMH… what was I thinking, same price, and go via ORD & MIA… lol

September is usually West Coast based, but a mandatory weekend visit to Seattle is on the cards to visit friends, so F class via SFO or if from LAS via LAX (a quick 300 SC's return, and gets me to where I want)

For my Christmas trips I try and avoid ORD at all costs

A lot of the information you posted from EF is double-Dutch to me but I think I've got your main point, that being the fares aren't doubling, just probably not yet available. I'll keep trying. I also probably need to look at a premium membership to EF and read up on some Flyertalk posts as to how understand the complex parts.
You have the gist -can't book a discount fare as there is no discount booking class being made available on a flight (yet).

Compare the D/I loadings for the flights on the different days - for the discounted fare you need I ≥ {Number of PAX}.

As the time moves on, these fares should become available for later dates, generally day by day.

Success.

It seems the passing of one more day, as suggested, has resulted in the fare becoming available on 1 December. It's still high for 2 December which confirms the notion that it's too early for the particular fares to be loaded. Tomorrow, it would seem that the 2 December fares will become available.
