You can check .co.uk too. Sometimes it's a little bit cheaper (more expensive most of the time though).

Ah, that's what competition does for you.

Or is it something else?

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

The deals on European sites have been around for a long time. They were posted on Ozbargain many times too. Thousands of people have already taken advantage of it.

I don't think its a secret but did get a PM asking me to edit the post to remove references to European sites.

I'm actually quite disappointed. I thought community is all about sharing but obviously its all about keeping something good to yourself.

Moderator, if you think it is not appropriate to post, you can edit my post. Since I think there is nothing wrong with it, I will leave it as is.

And those who are against me, please rest assured... I will not share anything on this board again

Finale,

The sort of price differences that you have highlighted have been mentioned on AFF before from time to time. It is not a state secret like some of the mistake fares that don't get mentioned. Sharing is what AFF is all about.

Thank Christ for members like you!

Please don't let them get you down....& stop posting.

In regards to the joker that sent the PM & others that support the selfish view - why join a forum if you want to keep the goodies for yourself  Geez, some people......take, take, take......

Why do these international sites get cheaper fare buckets than us locals?

What a joke...

It's not like there is anything stopping you from buying!

Thats a disappointing spirit, as others have said sharing is what AFF is all about, and its not like its a secret to Qantas, you get billed by Qantas when you use Expedia for the flights !

Nothing wrong at all and as you say been around a long time, in fact I had forgotten about it until a similar post during a sale in January reminded me, resulting in two bookings. thanks for another reminder :).

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

For me the best thing about this Qantas sale was the ability to buy one way tickets at a reasonable price on QF. Perhaps they are going to get competitive.

We needed two one way tickets to Manilla in September to link up with a previous Ozbargain flight deal. Cheap direct one way flights are a problem as QF and Philippine Airlines do not encourage one way tickets. So we had to purchase two economy QF tickets on QF Frequent flyer points (2 x 30,000 points & $512.00 "fees" total), which is not a great use of points.

So by booking through Expedia.ie last night we purchased 2 x SYD-MNL QF economy tickets for $420 each.

I checked the new tickets were confirmed in the QF system (they immediatly were), and cancelled the Frequent Flyer tickets.
So for $330ish ($840 new ticket cost less $512 QF FF "fees" to be returned) we got 50,000 QF FF points returned to our account immediatly, and because we had an 'old' booking we now get our luggage allowance upped to 30kg and multiple bags, instead of one bag at 23kg each.

There is a 2x 5000 QF FF points charge for cancelling the FF tickets, but the new tickets will earn more than that anyway.

We would have saved a bit more by booking through the expedia.br site, but we did the business before that tip was posted on Ozbargain.

So by the power of the internet, and the sharing of information on Ozbargin and The Australian Frequent Flyer, we have tickets for SYD-MHL (QF economy- which is still not too shabby, yet), then EY Business Class to LHR and back home direct to SYD for less than $3400 each.

And more FF points to play with!

So thanks guys & girls for sharing, we could not have done it without you.....

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

As mentioned on OzBargain as well if you go to expedia.com.br the price comes down even lower, close to $400 return.

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

That's a pretty good fare, hmm if only they were only for September.

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

Now that is what I call a bargain.

A shame dates never seem to work for me. Going April and July.

re: Qantas SYD&MEL to SIN $510 ret ($410 through .br site)

I would say it's to do with Brazil's rule on fuel surcharges. I don't think they allow tickets in Brazil to charge them!
