Thats a disappointing spirit, as others have said sharing is what AFF is all about, and its not like its a secret to Qantas, you get billed by Qantas when you use Expedia for the flights !

markis10, have you booked via the .br site? Is that your experience, that QF is the merchant? Does that mean changes can be made online on QF.com? Or are these treated as travel agent bookings. Good to hear that you can book using AU CC on the .br site.

I have booked a couple of flights earlier in the year through the Eurpean options and was billed by Qantas.

I have previously booked through an offshore expedia site and then made the changes myself directly with QANTAS.

Also uou will find that the booking comes up straight away in your FF account and then you can go and manage your booking as with any that are booked direct with QF, ie extra leg room seats etc

Sounds like a good deal. I won't be taking advantage though, USA and UK this year, then around the world for the best part of six months next year, I probably should look at getting some work done in between!!

Wonder whether that expedia.com.br site has good deals for South American flights, will be looking at a few "domestic" flights next year. (I say "domestic" because they will be international but within South American countries)

Well it has certainly been quoted elsewhere that a couple of those SA countries don't allow YG to be charged so worth a look!

I booked a flight from FRA on the .br site late last year, departing later this month (glad it is pre-cancellation of the route, I would have been getting re-routing messages in Portuguese). I did notice it took several days to get a ticket number, but otherwise all appears fine. Has anyone here actually flown on a QF ticket booked on the .br site?

Hmmm interesting. So could you change these on qantas.com? I've thought about booking, but worried that QF will refer me back to Expedia in Brazil!

Being billed by QF does not equal being able to change online.

I was referred to expedia in Ireland when seeking a change. Painless considering they speak english and it re-routed to their Indian/wherever call centre

Yes - but the .br site would, I'm guessing, have a contact number that diverts you to someone who speaks Portugese!

I know once you've flown the first sector, QF will make changes (I did this with a QF prime service ticketed to 001 (AA)) - so I guess as long as you don't need to change the first leg, you'd probably be ok.

Did the direct charge from Qantas attract the double miles earn on a QF credit card?

If so, that would also add a bit more to the points booty.

Ignore it Finale, totally agree with Amaroo. This is a Forum for helping others, good on you.:D

I believe that only applies to purchases made at qantas.com.au

Tried Expedia.br for PER-DFW-PER 5th Aug and 26th Aug for a sale fare listed on the QF website and trhe expedia site was nearly $3k higher. 11sjw fail....

Paging markis10 :D

After our heated debate on the cheapy Scoot ticket thread, these ~$410 deals ex-AUS to SIN returns with QF are extremely good value. Its a no-brainer now to book these deals and as low as I have ever seen them.

Wonder what the likelihood of an upgrade with points is ?

Many cheap fares ex-Aus are marked as not to be sold in Brazil - so you are stuck paying higher fares that, presumably, have the fuel fines built in.

accor have sent out to members the 40-50% night - book by 12 march stay by till 30 june (asia pacific only)
Just booked SYD-SIN-SYD, depart 25 April returning 29 April for R816. Now just need to find some cheap 5 star hotel, Marina Bay Sands at $326AUD per night is just too expensive for me. Are there any good threads on this site find cheap 5 star accommodation?
