Thanks to members like Finale, the next time I book a flight I'm going to check some OS site.
An interesting thing I noticed when booking a flight from Berlin to Barcelona recently on Expedia is that there were several flights available all at different prices, however the flights were all on the same Air Berlin flight - just codeshare.

Just completed booking for a family long weekend in Singapore, travelling from Perth. As I have plenty of SQ & VA points I first checked SQ flights but nothing available at the times I was looking for. Qantas points not so plentiful but enough to do 3 of us one way or wait until I have done an eastern states trip and book 2 returns on points and pay for the third ticket. Decided to book 3 seats outward now and take my chance on the return leg. QF fare on offer for the return leg was about A$550. Then checked on QF's Singapore website and found the same flight available at S$406 (about A$340). Considering I had already paid about A$240 each in taxes for the privilege of using my points on the outward leg, this seemed a pretty good deal - pay another A$100 and keep my points for another trip.

My kids have been buying things from overseas for years. It makes sense that purchasing overseas is cheaper than purchasing things here (airfares included) as wages and taxes in Australia are higher than in many other countries.

This is the flight centre we will beat any price guarantee. Essentially they are telling us that flights are cheaper on overseas websites.

LOWEST AIRFARE GUARANTEE
Here you'll find the lowest available prices on domestic flights to all destinations around Australia, as well as cheap international flights to a huge range of worldwide destinations. We won't be beaten on price and will beat any comparable quote.
^Based on Australian registered businesses & websites for travel departing within Australia.

Cheap Flights by Australia's Unbeatable Travel Agents - Flight Centre

Now that we have found a way to purchase cheaper QF flights our next trick should be to try and find where the star alliance carriers are selling cheaper flights with better conditions. This would be beneficial to those who want to attain star gold with Aegean but do not want to pay the higher prices that TG and SQ charge for flights that originate in Australia and come with points.

I will start a thread on it.

The deals are back with the latest qantas sale. Qantas priced bangkok $100 lower than last time so you can get bkk around $500 ($600 last time) SIN seems to be same price. Glad I didnt book BKK last sale and happy to see BKK getting cheaper and cheaper :D

Not too cheap. Then everyone will think they can holiday in Thailand when in actual fact they should simply stay home for everyone's sake....

Pity about the Expedia fees which are a separate charge but those wondering how its billed:

Not surprising, you need to ring them (28 degrees) and let them know of an impending overseas transactions, one from Expedia and one from Qantas in Sao Paulo.

I did called 28 degree and let them know about overseas transaction from Expedia, but still cannot use it. Maybe I should tell them about both Expedia and Qantas like you said. Thanks
