Hi EK fellows,

About the EK chauffer service, may I ask if you could take another pax along for the ride - travelling on the same flight, but on a different, non-qualifying ticket - with you ?

To my simple way of thinking, it is the same trip as they are already taking you - as a qualified pax - to / from the airport ?

Would love to hear from those who had tried this.

Of course, I would handsomely tip them for the services.

BTW, would 2 suitcases & 2 carry-ons too much for the limo ?

Hi legroom,

I have done this on numerous occasions when departing Sydney and there has never been an issue and no questions asked by the driver. Re the luggage, when they call to confirm your pick up time just mention what luggage you have and they will ensure a vehicle of sufficient size is used. In Sydney I have mainly had Audi A8's or equivalent and should have plenty of room for 2 suitcases and 2 carry-on's. Hope this is of assistance.

Thanks for the info I am looking for.

Reassuring to hear.

I have booked a QF J Classic Award from ADL-BKK via SYD, QF ADL-SYD then connecting to EK SYD-BKK. I went to "manage my booking" on the EK site and saw that I was entitled to complimentary chauffeur service to SYD and from BKK. This was a very nice surprise.

Does anyone know if I will be able to get the service to ADL instead of SYD?

Needs to be an EK ticketed flight number not a QF one to get the pickup in Adelaide. Doing the same in OCT so will see what kind of car they use in BKK.

Flew out of Rome last year in F, got an S class Merc to the airport, on arrival in Syd was driven home in a Holden Statesman.

Flew out of Syd to Rome a few weeks back in J, got an Audi A8 (it was the 6am flight), on arrival in Rome got an E class Merc.

Seems to be random in Oz.

Hi,

In Aus, is there generally a difference in the type of car that Emirates use for Chauffeur-drive if you are flying in F as opposed to flying in J ?

Because there is in Dubai (Volvos versus Mercs)

Cheers yeh I had an inkling that would be the case.
But to go from an S to a Statesman oh my. The difference is like the heavens and the earth lol.

Have used this service (from J) a few times in Europe. At both LGW and CDG the car was a black Audi (of indeterminate heritage).

I flew EK SIN-BNE in J two weeks ago, and almost laughed my pants off when the car awaiting to take me to the airport was a stock standard 4 door, Toyota Corolla (or car of similar style). Was a lift no less. The taxi I got the night before which just happened to be the next one on the rank, was a Limousine Taxi - Chrysler 300C - was miles ahead of my Chauffer Drive experience the following morning.

Chauffeur drive Corolla, that's a crack up.

Yes you get your Chauffeur Driver service at both ends with upgrades - as long as you book your upgrade 48 hours prior to your flight. Any booked flight, or upgrade made 48 hours prior to the flight is ineligible for the Chauffeur Driver service on EK.

The Chauffeur service is not avaliable on trans Tasman flights.

Im guessing this is not available for award bookings in J/F?

It sure was. I guess what made it just so wrong, was it was just a very old car, like 20 year old car, with an old car smell inside, and everything needing a lot of TLC. It was kinda like the first car you ever bought because it was old, cheap and nasty - and that is all you could afford. It could well be the loan car given out by the mechanics, because the real one was getting a service?

Thanks, I guess I miss out as I booked an F award ticket from CDG to PER.

Guys if I am flying DXB-MEL in EK in F using points but booked as DXB-PER in F then PER-MEL in J will I get the chauffer service to take me home from the airport in MEL ?
