Emirates (EK) Chauffer Service

I booked a flight through Qantas on Emirates metal that is entitled to Chauffeur Drive. I have filled out the details on the QF website but if I put the PNR details in the EK website it says I haven't booked.

I would have thought that the systems would have been linked or else I could probably book a car from each site?

I also have a flight on EK metal booked as a QFF point redemption. What I did was Manage My Booking on the EK website and put the details in there as the flight was with EK. On the QF page there are no links to Chauffeur Drive.

Just a question guys: I am travelling with my wife EK F each of us have two large suitcases and a carry on. Should we book two cars ?

Mine was also a points redemption and it had an option on the QF booking page. We have 3 cases and two carry one so may book 2 cars to be safe

I would.

I haven't seen any Merc van at the airport.

I booked the chauffeur drive on the Qantas site as above and it is 12 hours until pick up and I haven't received a confirmation call. Should I be worried?

This was a QF points redemption on an EK flight so not sure who is responsible. I have a confirmation that appears on the Qantas site but I would have expected a phone call especially as when I rang Qantas weeks ago about booking two cars they said to mention it when the company called.
You shouldn't have to log in on the EK website to book the cars surely.

I've never used the service departing Australia, but despite most people being contacted, I have never received a call about pickup in Dubai or Europe but a car has always arrived. Wouldn't hurt to check the EK site though, I did a booking on EK on QF points but booked my transfers via the EK website, figured by cutting out the middle man (Qantas) less chance of anything going wrong.

I have redeemed flights through QFF and like other posters have made the chauffeur bookings on the EK website. I have also never received a confirmation call but a car has always shown up.

Just FYI - having just spoken with Emirates, they advise that if travelling with others on different PNRs but only booking one car that you contact them and provide the PNRs for the other passengers so that the chauffeur is aware of the number of pax he is collecting.

We had an issue with an Etihad chauffeur as we were travelling on different PNRs, had booked just one car but he wouldn't take my partner until we showed proof that she was travelling on same flight/same class.

Sorry, I forgot to repost after my trip. Booked only 1 car through the EK sight (QFF redemtion). Driver was waiting for us, no issues regarding the second passenger, Holden Statesman waiting for us, big enough for all our luggage, no problems at all.

I'm now sitting at JFK I the a Emirates lounge. Late last night I found a message that was sitting on the hotel room phone but the message light wasn't working. Driver turned up early but didn't come into hotel lobby, just put a handwritten sign up on the window with my name. Car was a clapped out Lincoln town car with the rear right door not opening. Plenty of boot space for 4 checked bags and two carry ons.

Looks like my worries were unfounded though. I might suggest an SMS confirmation message though as this would cost the recipient nothing. I also wonder why Emirates gave us an option for 2 cars (two of us on the one booking) but Qantas does not have that functionality)

Interesting

I cannot recall similar tales from the QF Chauffer thread.

Wonder if it was only an isolated case, and not a written Etihad policy ?

can anyone advise if they have been successful in getting the chauffeur to pick up later.
the latest I can be picked up is 3 hours before my flight (6am EK415 out of SYD), for only a 15 minute drive at that time of the morning.
The last few times I havent bothered booking it because its too early, and just gotten a taxi instead at 4:30.

When confirming with car company, you can usually get whatever time you request. Obviously your problem if you do not make it to your flight on time

Is there a general consensus with whom to book the chauffeur drive with when a booking is made through Qantas for a points redemption on Emirates?

Last year I booked the chauffeur drive on the Emirates website and had no issues, cars all rocked up.

I have a new similar redemption booking coming up in a month and for some reason I booked the chauffeur drive on the Qantas site this time and am a little nervous about it. Has anyone had this work successfully through the Qantas site when travelling on Emirates?

Hi Shifty, I booked my husband Perth to Dubai return last year through Qantas and he was transferred both ways, they didn't even ring to confirm. Today we were picked up from our Washington Hotel to airport again no confirmation and driver turned up. So it seems all okay. Good luck and don't worry. And that is flying Emirates.

Thanks so much for the confirmation. I will just leave the chauffeur bookings with Qantas than.

Hi all

I have a EK flight coming up next week and booked the chauffeur drive. I just want to know roughly when do they call to confirm pick up. Also, we'll have 2 suitcases, 1 medium box (monitor size) and 2 carry-ons. one car should do right?

They call about 1-2 days prior to departure.

Usually a Statesman or BMW series 7

You decide if it is enough. You could ask for Q7 instead.

I got a call 2 days before departure to confirm address, luggage and pax.

Forgive me if this sounds a bit silly. Have booked a J ticket BCN-xDXB-BNE. I then need to connect to a VA flight from BNE domestic, obviously on a separate PNR. Would the chauffeur service take me from BNE International Terminal to Domestic Terminal? Save $5 on the translink, save time waiting for half hourly train on weekend, plus arriving at Domestic in style with multiple luggages? ;)
