My like of your previous post drron is for the last sentence. We can't take it with us, enjoy it whilst we are here. Another insidious cancer :(

And my like for your previous, QF WP, is to share your hatred of this disease...probably not many families left untouched by its tentacles.

About 1 in 4 to 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer. No probably involved, it impacts everyone.

Damn....

A tooth that had root canal on it ~14 years ago has started breaking and now the whole filling has come out. :(

Lots of things changed at the free to air TV stations and Ian Ross was a comforting presenter who was really liked by his audience. I was saddened to hear that he had passed away.
We rarely watch free to air TV unless I want to watch some advertising.
We do watch ABC TV and more on Foxtel.
My niece watches "Can I afford it ?"on channel 652 and now asks questions about money so I can recommend you watch that one.

Mind you, there is a lot of advertising is on 'pay' tv as well. The programmers are clever as well, on a lot of the channels the ads occur at the same time. Our pvr gets a good work out, record, then fast forward through the ads.

Yes I know the ads pay for the programming, but I also pay $120 a month to them as well. Also you have to note the amount of old, old programmes. Speaking of which, some-one please rerun 'F Troop'.

As an aside, just recently my Mother died, just a couple of days into to her billing period, do you think they would cancel it then and refund any credit to the estate?

Not likely, but being a 'news' company, even if only partly, I am not surprised at all.

Yes, I do realise there is an 'off' button as well.

Must be premature tooth ache. I note you posted your message at 2:19pm, which is precisely 11 mins early for such an event

Now on a serious note, 14 years is probably reasonable mileage for such repairs. I know my dentist was very surprised I have not had problems with some work I had done about 35 years ago. He said he never gives more than a 10 year "warranty". That dentist experience 35 years ago (root canal with no anesthetic followed by hours of rebuilding my front tooth after it was snapped in half) instilled a major fear of dentists and I still suffer from it today. I feel your pain (literally at times) and end up putting off the dentist visit until the pain of not going approaches the perceived pain of going.

LOL NM!

If that was my only issue then I wouldn't worry. I don't like dentists. I think it has been over 10 years since I have visited a dentist. Apparently I need 6 fillings and 2 root canals and now this tooth.

The fun starts tomorrow morning. All without anesthetic....

I with you on this. I had my wisdom teeth out in 1999, and although is wasn't my dentist who took them out (Maxillofacial Specialist), I didn't go back for 12 years, until I had another tooth ache. Only needed 2 fillings (and a damn good clean - yuk ).

I have been fortunate and have not got any fillings.

My parents were also strong advocates of fluoride tablets until it was added to the water in Adelaide, so i am sure that has helped.

I do enjoy rigorous scientific research especially as is undertaken in Malaysia.

Likewise, have never had a need for any fillings / crowns / root canals, etc. Fortunate I guess! My sisters are the same, so perhaps we all did something right after all

...

The "study" was actually German, but who is to say that it actually happened - after all, we're trusting a Malay paper reporting that it was reported by Chinese media... gee, that's a bit of deja vu...

I should live to be 150 then! ;)

I must be weird as I love going to the dentist. I can't wait to get that scale and polish fast enough :)

I go to the dentist every 6 months, making my next appointment as I leave. I too love that clean feeling.
Only thing I hate is the needle so never have one, just go the drill.
Lucky too that me dentist does not charge for a clean or fluoride treatment, just takes the health fund payment.

Although I harboured no specific fear beforehand, having a sister as a dentist (and formerly, dentist-in-training, of course) helped pacify a lot of fears (again, if any) that I had about going to the dentist.

That said, I'm not sure if love going to the dentist is the correct word to use. I mean, it's a good thing to do 1-2 times a year, but I wouldn't be running to go back to the dentist on my own free will much more than I would to have my blood taken!

Unless my dentist was a hot chick, well...... :)
