What cheeses me off

I went to have lunch at one of my favourites - Saké in Manly - earlier this week, only to find upon entrance that they've recently introduced a $75 per person minimum spend, all day, every day.

Neither my dining partner nor I was in a position to eat (or drink) a $150 quick lunch, so we left.

I get it for prime times like holidays and weekend evenings, but that place was empty, and remained at least two diners emptier than it would have.

I won't be back.

Not per table?

I had a look on their menu and with most mains between $25-$35 thats basically saying each guest must order a entree and a main and some drinks or bottle of wine to get to that $75 benchmark for each guest.

Basically - if you want to duck in and grab a few pieces of sushi its "go away". Looks like nice food though.

Yeah, it was a nice spot. Glad I was able to enjoy it a few times. But agree - you're now either going to have to be there for a full meal or getting at least a solid buzz. Seems silly to expect from people at 1:30pm on a Tuesday.

What cheeses me off is getting an e-mail from Telstra saying "We HAVE changed your business internet plan, now "unlimited" and its costing you $20/month more".

Given that I don't nearly use the current data allowance (not even close), that didn't suit, so I called. Made to call via the app ... nice bloke in Perth but basically there is no cheaper business plan - its unlimited or unlimited with speed boost.

He suggested a residential plan - but I pointed out to HIM that these 1) don't have mobile dongle back-up to the NBN modem, if NBN goes down, and 2) speeds are guaranteed in evening for residential, as opposed to business hours for business.

I have oodles of phone data and will be testing the speed (4G where I live/work) over the next month to see if it can replace the NBN.

My gripe is Coles lost $125.09 of my order last week and Im still chasing a credit from them for it.

I hope someone really enjoyed the Porterhouse steak, chicken and cherries that was delivered to them incorrectly because Im up to phone call #8 now and still no refund in sight.

Paid by credit card?

My claim is for $125.09 in missing items

Today they countered with $108.66 plus a $15 complementary "we're sorry" credit... this equals $123.66. This is not acceptable.

So now its $125.09 credit for missing items plus $15 because someone at Coles did not submit my claim a week ago so will see if the credit comes through in a few days time. Im glad I dont feed my family pay cheque to pay cheque - they would be eating noodles by now.

In 2000, my Father, 20 years after he had retired as a Primary School Principal, was made an offer by his defined super scheme to buy him out for nearly $800k.
Probable about ten plus years ago I had to follow up non data matching defined benefit on works system.
The small companies from many years ago ,Arnott's for example , were all taken over by an insurance company. Can't remember which one but I had a chat with the bloke who was one of the ....three mabbe five staff in the team .
They still had many people on defined benefits that were over 100.
Mine is a fed gov one. Would be interesting to know what old non Government companies , now long since gone, offered defined benefits

I was with Western Mining Corp, which had a defined benefits scheme. But this was phased out when a new raft of malmanagement came in in the early 1990s. They of course had no intention of hanging around and had no benefit from defined benefits (considering the qualification periods). I left soon after that and, being naïve, was shocked when I went shopping for a new super scheme - what! the value of my super can go down!!!

But their hand hasn't touched other pieces?

I bought a TV for mum and dad at Good Guys last week. Used Latitude Pay so I can pay in 10 instalments.

Payment went through, approved and their terminal crashes. Start back up again but refuse to complete order. They want proof of purchase. Show them payment plan on Latitude Pay but that's not enough. Show them Virgin Money transaction but that's not enough.

They are adamant payment has not gone through. Won't let me take TV. Wait a few days and find out if payment has gone through. I'm going back to Brisbane. They offer to deliver. I'm not paying delivery fee. They waive delivery fee. Who is going to set up the TV? Silence

I put payment through one more time so I can take TV. As it turns our I now have 2 transactions on Virgin Money. Check Latitude Pay to see 2 payment plans. FFS.

Called this morning. No we can't see payment twice. Can you send us screenshots of the double up? By this stage steam is coming out. FFS. Why am I suffering for your incompetence? You stuffed up and you want me to prove you stuffed up? You are wasting my time.

I'm not happy. The customer service on Monday was woeful. And the follow up is even worse. 2 payments are coming out on Monday unless I send them email and they cancel one of the payment plans in time.

Should I expect compensation? $50 store credit? $100 store credit?
