QF768 Sat 12 April B737 subbed for A332

Qantas don't charge different based on what aircraft you are on,

Indeed, but airfares might well increase if capacity is being reduced. Neither QF or VA are in a position to add extra flights really to backfill lost capacity and JQ only has a token presence on transon.

Priced some MEL-PER flights recently and the cheapest option was with Batik via DPS. Yes, even cheaper than Jetstar.

I fly MEL-PER return about once a month, and have noticed the decreased QF A330 flights. The A330 and 787 flights are now consistently being priced higher than the 737 flights too. Of course PER also missed out on the business class sale. It really is a market Qantas feels little competitive pressure on. Maybe some overseas competition would do it some good.

Fares are not set based on aircraft type. What you seeing is cheaper fare buckets sell out quicker on 330s.
