Qantas double status credits: Register & book between 12-18 March 2025

I thought that it went by AEDST, not UTC. If someone could confirm, that would be great.

I registered for the promotion, via my laptop (not the phone application) within a couple of hours of it becoming active (I have the confirmation e-mail as proof). I then proceeded to complete a couple of bookings of bookings. All of this was prior to 12/03 UTC (but on 12/03 AEDST). Should my new bookings count towards DSC?
(The bookings covered QF domestic and QF Trans-Tasman within the valid date range, so should be eligible.)

I booked even earlier during the last DSC sale and had no issue but I'm a bit concerned after reading some comments.

I plan/hope to book some more (maybe as placeholders and cop any change fees when I need to update the dates).

All my bookings over the last few years for DSC have been made well before 1100 AEDST on the first day of the promo and the double credits came through within two days of travel. If they don't then iproviding the booking details/boarding passes to prove the travel etc to QF will see the double credits come through(albeit eventually).

Your bookings will acquire the DSCs provided they are eligible (which they seem to be on the info provided) it may take providing evidence to Qantas if not given automatically.

A PC status run out of MEL thanks to a little quirk of another airline's award program (who may be having a miles sale atm).

Make sure you book for a guest so you can change the FF number to your Qantas one. Otherwise, it gets locked to the other airline's program.

Do you have to have the points in that other airlines FF program or can you use QFF points? I have absolutely no idea how anything with another airline works with PC - my first year in PC so I am still getting my head around the basics!

I will never get bored of AFF DSC threads being 50% questions from posters who haven't bothered reading the T&C or any other thread posts, and 50% questions from posters who read absolutely everything and obsess over tweaked T&C clauses and potential interpretations. Such polar opposites, and total chaos every single time.

And the rest (or at least not those in the 100% ) are like ducks on a pond. Calm on the surface but madly doing stuff in the background.

Do you have to have the points in that other airlines FF program or can you use QFF points? I have absolutely no idea how anything with another airline works with PC - my first year in PC so I am still getting my head around the basics!

Booking a QF coded / QF operated award flight via AA and other partner award programs earns SCs as PC (just need to get your QFF number in).

And yes, you need points in that other program. Academic otherwise.

MEL<--->CHC is my regular route. Mix of J & economy. Some times via BNE OOL for more SC's if worth the cost~effort.

MEL-CHC ~AU$142 AU has a $70 departure tax
CHC-MEL ~NZ$68
Then the fare for the airlines.

Key Red Flag/Takeaway is this:

1. "All bookings must be new to be eligible. Any new segments added to an existing PNR during the promotional period will not be eligible."
2. "If you cancel your initial qualifying booking or change it to be outside the promotional period, the double Qantas Points or double Status Credits offer will not apply."
3. "Bookings made using flight credits issued prior to 12 March 2025 are eligible for this offer. Flight credits issued on or after 12 March 2025 will not be eligible for this offer."

So changes to the existing PNR (flight club rules) might not be allowed this year around(?) I hope I am wrong on this.

I'll probably end up guinea pigging one of my Mid Apr SYD - MEL legs as a test so check if QF IT has had any real changes.

Yep - they have really clamped down hard.

On the bright side - it will free up an A380 as it will no longer be needed for the daily BKQ-LRE service!

Just booked OOL-MEL-AKL-MEL in J for $1.7k netting 560 status credits. Booked for October as more of a safety net if I think I am going to be short, otherwise can cancel for a minimal fee refund.

I can’t remember in the past years if they had this clause in it. I remember vaguely it being there for the Oct 24 and 2023…

I might try either PNR-securing option and see how it goes.
