Qantas domestic economy meals

QF610 MEL-BNE yesterday. Honestly not too bad for a 2-hour flight. Disappointing that MEL-CNS got almost the exact same offering for a much longer flight.1000019480.jpg1000019482.jpg

Then this is QF631 BNE-MEL yesterday also. Despite the catering difficulties, this was more than I expected to get considering the circumstances. Turns out MEL catering were loading more food on BNE bound planes to compensate, and I was lucky.

They were also, rather interestingly, serving alcohol on QF610 (left MEL at 0920 and arrived BNE at 1035)

Re Economy meal service how can Qantas offer a biscuit for breakfast on a 6am flight from Newcastle to Melbourne - at the cost of over $650? I note that the FF Gazette seems to have gone soft on Qantas recently after a period in which I presume there was some friction. Please don't back off a tough minded review of this greedy monopoly. Otherwise I will unsubscribe There is too much distortion in the media and Government already Roger R Collins

Dinner QF147 SYD-AKL.

“Roast” chicken and veggies.

It was more like braised chicken with a syrupy sauce.

It was very tasty, but certainly not roast chook.

Maybe they get lots of pieces of chicken in a big tray and saturate it with the sauce / marinade, then shove that in the oven. Maybe even put a foil on top of the tray.

The con is that it wouldn't be roasted chicken, but in theory the pro is that the chicken shouldn't be dry.
