Speaking of things Gaga-esque, I loved the press release from our (Vic) state govt about the declaration of the event to prevent scalping. It headlined tickets could not be sold more than 10% above (Poker) Face value. One Lady Gaga has traded up to = 1.52 CSL shares.

Stay safe in your travels @coveWe will take one for the team by going to the US in May. It should be fun.
Yesterday the market went up strongly then eased back as we head into a long weekend.
Had a read about Australia losing its “lucky country status” as we head into another general election.
We are happy that we don’t love guns here in Australia.
Second hand goods imported attract the same tariff rate as new goods. Their origin for Customs purposes will still be China so all 'normal;' rates would apply. The only change would be that the value for duty assessmentwould be probably be less - obviously depending on the sale price. What probably most of us has been suspecting has now been confirmed by the Chinese - absolutely zero talks have taken place between China and America.
I wonder if the tariffs apply to second hand goods that were made in China and exported to Australia and used then listed on eBay Australia when no longer required - if no tariffs on second hand goods then Australians might be able to make a fortune from desperate Americans!
Are travel expenses claimable? In a SMSF?Anyone going to WDS show and tell. I wonder if it's going to be as fiery as last year
If the sole purpose is to attend the show and tell. SMSF? Yes if you are the trustee - after all the trustee is responsible for the investment strategy of the SMSFAre travel expenses claimable?
There's a fine line that might present issues. I'd imagine you'd need to fly there, one overnight then fly back. Any additional days, even if not claimed for meals and accommodation, could present difficulties to explain if asked. If the sole purpose is to attend the show and tell.
