I do like my WP perks though...considered myself free of QFF shackles.
Have flown business on many of both Alliances. Star probably has some of the best lounges. I’m accumulating points/status with bothFinally got there last week, so considered myself free of QFF shackles.
Now which is the better one; Star or Skyteam? Both serves destinations that I travel to/will travel to.
Only 50 yrs of continuous WP to go…Only 60,946 SC to go! How motivating.
That’s the real downer now with LTP. When you hit LTG you realise the hill ahead of you.Only 60,946 SC to go! How motivating.
28,000 and I’d give it a shot! (that would only be a few more years).Another 3 or 4 more years of WP for me and I'll be 1/3 of the way to LTP!
To me, if they changed LTP from 75000 to 50000SC, it'll still be a hard target to reach for most but doesn't seem quite so impossible and might sway a fair chunk of flyers to aim for that.
I got noting on mine. Favouritism...onder if one of the crew had foreseen that when she slipped me a champagne from Business class on my qualifying flight 2 nights ago?
Well, QF gave 1,800 SC to P1 during Covid., so 2.4% of LTP.Of course, Covid years and status extensions didn’t help those chasing LT status.

Qantas did send out a survey just before Covid around this when there were complaints around the LTP threshold but it never went anywhereI wonder if QF should consider "stretch goals" to promote loyalty to QFF after LTG is reached.
For example, at 21,000 SC, 28,000 SC, 35,000 SC etc you get a permanent bonus (e.g. extra baggage allowance on all QF operated itineraries, extra guest allowance above the usual limit, 2x Domestic Business Lounge passes per year, 2x First Lounge passes per year when flying QF etc.). Low cost to QF and not quite LTP/OWE, but some benefits like those they offer for the Titanium card when flying QF.
