Ugggh! My 80K has morphed into 40A 3x4x3 for Saturday's flight. :(

So a Kangaroo config ... I called and moved to an aisle seat.

At least it's now 25 minutes faster on the schedule and I'm now at the front of WHY.

My Monday anticipated 38K on the A380 morphed into 35G on a 744. A quick check of ExpertFlyer told me the entertainment box takes up some leg room in the seat. Only other seat available was 37K on the QF site, showing as a blocked seat on EF. I prefer a window seat anyway, so snared it.

And OT, Next trip after this will be via DFW. Both QF7 & 8 for that now have the new configuration, so it looks like the treat of the J seats for PE prices is very much numbered.

I dont really see why a mosquito bite should matter but I guess squeezing it settles the question as if it wasn't infected before it certainly would be afterwards.

He probably just woke up today & didn't feel like pounding on someone's dicky knee. Or, found a mozzie bite on everyone so he could make it to the kids/ grand kids school concert..

Yes.I can tell you I was a little upset.however I am now partaking of a favourite red of mine-a 1984 Lindemans Hunter river Steven Hermitage.Comes with a good story i might have told before. In 1992 I was presenting the wines for the tasting competition of the Hunter valley wine club. Our monthly dinner was at the Lindeman's winery at Pokolbin and present was Patrick Auld the winemaker of this particular drop which i presented as the blind tasting. No one thought that this was a Hunter Valley wine as 1984 was a wet year and the wines were thought to be poor-I thought different. When the wine was unmasked Patrick got up and just said-"It goes to show that I am a much better winemaker than even I thought".
Only 1 other bottle left but it is going to be consumed in the near future as it has just started on the downhill.

Some of you may remember some time ago that I guested my dad into the VA Lounge in BNE D as he was flying BNE-DRW en route to MNL. Some of you remember that I posted that it was silly of me to forget to tell him everything in the lounge was free of charge, so that's why he didn't front up to the bar and help himself to a beer.

He recently returned from overseas so I joked at him why he thought it was a cash bar. His reply? He knew Virgin only as an LCC so he expected that as you get on an LCC and get charged for everything on board, the same would hold in a lounge operated by Virgin. He said that if JQ operated a lounge (and they do), he would expect the same thing, since JQ also charge you for everything on board. On the other hand, were it a QF lounge, he knows they don't charge you for everything on board (well, they charge you most of the time for your beer and wine!), so if he were in a QF lounge he'd 'expect' / 'know' everything was free of charge.

In the end, it probably still all comes down to 'inexperience' (yes, I know there are some places in the world where some things we take for granted as free / provided in the lounge are actually chargeable)...

Bugger! On a slightly related note, my SO is now home from hospital and enjoying some well needed R&R and home cooking by moi! :)

:( Ohh dear, must be tricky trying to fit it all in amongst circumnavigating the globe on multiple occasions ;)

How frustrating and my empathy - came very close to having mine (done in BNE late Jan) cancelled due to puppy inflicted scratches on lower calf. Surgeon cleared in office day prior, but nurse in pre-theatre wanted to put a stop to it. Also agree an aged Hunter shiraz does wonders for morale - Tyrell's Baulkham shiraz helped ease some of the angst post 2011 flood. Hope next scheduled date comes off, and in the interim, cheers!

Australia got beaten by Sri Lanka in the 2nd final of the Tri series in Adelaide tonight.

Australia posted 271 and Sri Lanka only lost 2 wickets to win with more than 5 overs to spare.

Game 3 should be interesting.

I'm surprised they only managed to bank five overs remaining. At the rate we were being taken to school I thought they were going to hit the target with at least double that to go.

Had Sri Lanka lost that game I would have eaten a hat. Well done to them, though.

The effort one has to go through to get a Russian tourist visa is making me think that I will never visit Russia again after this. The Hilton Moscow has been quite frustrating, but finally, 4 days later, we have the right documents.

Now to front up to the Russian Consulate in Sydney tomorrow morning and lodge everything.

Sorry, but that's a hanging offense. Failing to educate one's father on his access to the privileges of free beer is sign of having terrible offspring. :p

Can do all sorts of operations with mozzie bites around but best not to take the risk on broken skin anywhere near where a joint replacement is about to go - trust me, it's much better to be cancelled a few times than end up with an infected prosthesis in! Deep infection (ie infection of joint/bone/prosthesis, not just a skin/wound inection) means multiple major surgeries to fix the infection, months of antibiotics and a rather coughpier function than planned - often worse than the arthritic joint it replaced! It can end up a complete disaster and only seems to happen to the nicest people - so become a bit of a douche before your surgery drron and you should be ok! ;)

Other operations that don't involve putting foreign materials like ceramic, plastic and metal into joints are reasonably safe even with mozzie bites near to the incision. Don't worry, there are no starving orthopaedic surgeons in Qld... :D
