Hi all, desperately need some information regarding a flight booked for Wednesday. Without going into all the details, this is my problem..
I'm booked on a flight to Brisbane then onto Darwin. With a return flight Sunday Darwin direct to Melbourne. The tickets have been booked by a Corp agent and are red deal fares ??
I now have to change my plans and fly to Cairns on Wednesday and will most probably come back next Wednesday.
In manage my booking, there is no option to change flight or cancel..

The question is, if I book another flight for Wednesday, will it allow me to and would the corp agent be able to cancel/amend the original booking??

All help greatly appreciated.

David

Call your corporate travel agent - they are usually good at sorting stuff out like this. (the good ones anyway)

I am guessing that the booking is with Qantas. If you book on-line with Qantas there is always an option to cancel or change flights in manage your booking on the website. For cheap fares such as Red-e-deals there is a significant re-booking fee. Cash refunds are not available, but credit can be applied to future flights within 12 months. Changes must be made before the date of travel. As you booked through an agent this may not be available on-line. Talk to your agent.

Fare conditions for Qantas Red-e-deals are available at Bookings - Fare Types

No, there is not always the option to change online, you are allowed one change, then the change/ cancel button will not be active, requiring a call to the call centre and higher fees. If the system detects its a corporate booked fare with cost reporting, the change button won't be shown in the first place.

Hi Markis10,, I think that you are correct. in my booking, there is no change flight button. I have booked another flight for Wednesday and will let the agent that booked the original flights cancel and either rebook my flight home or whatever.
will let you know the outcome tomorrow.

If its booked by travel agent (eg Amex travel for work) you won't get an option to change due to unauthorized changes to your itinerary.

With discount economy airfares such as red-e-deals changes or cancellations must be done at least 24 hours prior to travel & cannot be done on the day of departure.

I take it you live in MEL & were doing BNE/xBNE/DRW/MEL but now need to go MEL/CNS/MEL only.

Your original ticket to DRW can be used as a credit towards the purchase of a new fare to CNS less change fees but note there's no refund if the new fare is less than the old fare & I think the CNS option would e a slightly cheaper airfare.

You could possibly add another sector fare in somewhere to make the new fare more than the old one to get every last dollar out of it.

Well it would appear that the agent was able to cancel the flights as they are no longer on my profile.
