My great grandfather came out to Oz from Scotland at the turn of last century - settled at Bonnie Doon in Victoria.

I am now officially old. I have spent time with the optometrist today and ordered a pair of multifocal glasses.

I went along to the NSW RMS to renew my licence during the week and took my glasses "just in case"
Fortunately I didn't need them, they don't suit me

Licence photos rarely suit anyone. ;)

My Place of Employment ID looks like I'm wearing sunglasses. On the day that photo was taken unannounced, I had my glasses on as normal but they'd transitioned into the sunglasses mode. The person taking the photo didn't ask me to take off my glasses so I didn't.

The vision testing in Victoria is becoming quite onerous. Because I have a HR licence I have to do a specific vision test every year. In NSW it was just the basic test every five years when renewing the licence.

I used to have a bus licence. It was a requirement when I was in the police force. To drive the paddy wagon. I make sure I look the best I can in my drivers licence photo as I reckon I use it as ID at least once a week.

I basically refuse to show my licence to everybody. Way too much chance of identity theft.

The demands for identification are out of control. If I don't believe they need to see identification I ask them for their licence. When they refuse, so do I. :)

Then I ask for their company policy on handling personal information and why they need to see my licence.

Very few can answer these questions.

Looks like the bullying and harassment is about to come to an end. And the bullies will win.

I don't think anyone's out to steal my identity. I just get tired of having to get my licence out of the tiny window slot of my wallet.

Good work! I am with you completely on this.

The last time I looked, and it was a while ago, my licence said in the fine print "not to be used for identification purposes".

LOL, SWMBO picked up two new pair of specs today....both multi! I've worn glasses since the age of 20 but I still don't need them to read :D

You can imagine the fun I had rubbing this in

I'm not on multi focal yet, I'm sounding just like your Amaroo, although I should of get them in my teens rather than 20's!

HVR, maybe we should arrange an AFF meet that involves a big coach driven by you!
