This is the new thread for the next Darwin dinner.

Everyone is being very polite about location and dates (dare I say that there is an almost English gent level of politeness about being happy to go wherever and whenever).

It seems that everyone is free(ish) on the 27/28/29/30 of April - so we will need to lock down one of those days.

Venue seems to be sort of heading towards The Cav or somewhere at the Waterfront.

With that all in mind - I'm going to grab the bull by the horns and suggest:

I'll book Chow at 7:30 on 27 April.

I'm happy with any day, slight preference for closer to the weekend but not fussed. Il Lido is fine by me, as is Chow (as per the Cap'n). I have a preference for Chow but suggest we put it to a vote?

Jolly good old chap. If only you could get a good tea and scones in Darwin.

I will check my diary and let you know Mr Matador aka TripleB.

I will book my flights later this week. It looks like the 30th will be out for me but the rest are fine.

I've only ever flown through DRW on my way to somewhere else (DPS, ASP). One day I'll have to stop and see what the locals wax lyrical over (in particular, the seafood and the sunset). Alas, I'm out for this event.

For some reason (probably the passing of time) I can't edit the top post.

It looks like either the 28th or 29th is firming as the favourite.

Mrs TripleB came up on the weekend
(her QFFF year ends 31 March and she was 30sc short of gold - so a SYD-DRW-SYD did the trick) and I (again) front ran the suggested venue and took her to Chow - it was really very good. I think it would be a good venue.

Re: Darwin Dinner - 27/28/29 April TBC

My attempt to remove the 30th from this thread title failed. It might require a moderator.

Now I've booked flights and my trip has firmed up, the 29th is out for me.

Both the 27th and 28th are ok and I will happily eat at any of the venues mentioned.

My preference is Chow on the 28th

28th at Chow is good for me
28th works for me with a disclaimer... I can't make it until around 7:30pm. But let's lock it in or we will never pick a date.

If we can get ChasingDaylight onboard it will be a new AFF Darwin event record of FOUR attendees!
