Hi all, I started a thread on a FF Facebook group and it seemed to be well received so I though I'd start a thread here too.

Post up a photo (only one allowed) of the most interesting/special/significant place you've visited this year. If this goes well, it could become an annual thing.

It suppose that most here would agree that we're an incredibly fortunate group of people. I'm sure there's some FFAers out there who have struggles (and I don't want to dismiss those), but the opportunity to live/work/travel on this planet in 2015 is an incredibly privilege. Only a few generations ago (my grandparents, for example), if you wanted to travel, you'd have to join the army.

Here's an opportunity to share an amazing experience you've had this year, and live vicariously through some other FFAers. :)

My photo shouldn't need any description. :)

Merry Christmas all, and a safe, happy new year!

My most interesting place to visit this year is at Sydney Adventist Hospital, for the birth of my daughter.

What a great photo RooFlyer!

Can I post up two photos in response to PaulSTs quip "we're an incredibly fortunate group of people"? How about we look at both ends of the socio-spectrum......

For me it was my first visit to New York after more than a dozen visits to the US of A. I've been to just about everywhere else but had missed this part of the world. I loved the view of the Empire State Building from our hotel window so much that I took about 30 photos of it in different lights. My son made a GIF of them but hasn't managed to send it to me yet. I've dropped the res on these pics so the uploader accepts them.

I think Im at risk of seeing too many cool things in my life, they are all fantastic but to nail it down to one for the year.... will have to think about this.

We were pretty impressed by [FONT=&amp]San Vicente de la Barquera during our visit to Spain-enjoyed the surrounds and general peace and quiet
Photo is from apartment balcony early morning as we were leaving

Only 1 trip for me this year but I love Hawaii.....about the only place I feel like home and can relax

I've never thought about bucket lists before (I don't like the expression much) but having passed a significant birthday I'm starting to mentally add a few things to my own list. This thread is helping (or isn't helping if you know what I mean!)

Greenland for me, east coast, specifically Scorsbysund where we encountered a polar bear asleep on the sea ice on our first morning.

One photo only. :) (otherwise I'd have drowned the thread in photos of New Zealand)

For me, most interesting place was probably a tie between the Dreihaus Museum (which shows the art, architecture and general design of houses during the Gilded Age in the US, in the picture below) in Chicago and the California Science Center (specifically seeing a space shuttle).

After my recent trip to Romania, Moldova (including the bizarre Transnistria), Georgia and Iran I've been spoilt by interesting places but it is hard to go past Iran just a fascinating country that I can't recommend highly enough. The most amazing, friendly and humble people I have ever met in the world.

For me it was the first trip of the year and it was a 2400 km road trip, from Eyre Peninsula to Perth.
