When the new JQ timetable comes into play in late March (I think March 24ish), I notice that JQ35 stops being run on Saturdays, and instead moves to a Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday timing.

JQ36 runs MEL-SYD on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and leaves at 10am.

Interesting times....

Maybe Sunday works for some!

pity. had a few good runs planned for the afl.
last yr did jq35 to hilton exec lounge to game

is there a current list of these flights?
remember one from 2010

Oh well....the F lounge run will have to move to Sunday, but this means I will not O/N in Mel but fly straight back to Syd on Sun evening.

Would be good for Mexicans wanting a Saturday night stay in SYD as they could take JQ36 northbound on Sat then fly southbound on the Sun on JQ35 so they would be able to Flounge in both MEL & SYD.

If you live in SYD it's a reverse Flounge run as you'd fly domestically to MEL on your carrier of choice then fly MEL/SYD on Sun using the MEL Flounge instead of the SYD one.

Wannabee - you're a dead ringer for Batman, are you two related by any chance? :p

For the BNE crowd, it's probably the Sunday option with a flight back to BNE in the afternoon to make it to the office the next day. This'll be a bit more awkward since Sunday night MEL-BNE is one of the worst times to try and pick up a Red e-Deal / Saver, especially out of sale times. Even when future sales come on that particular timing and segment are horrible for cheap inventory. A JASA might be a better option if you can fork out the 24,000 points required each time you do the run. Or a J reward on VA at 6,900 points per pop plus a token $ amount.

The other option is to use a BNE/SYD positioning flight and come back Monday evening, viz. SYD-MEL on Sunday JQ35 then MEL-SYD on Monday JQ36. The latter one is a breakfast run and likely to make you not have much sleep in MEL, so not as spectacular but an idea nonetheless.

Another option is to fly JQ 35 on Sun from Syd-Mel (and get access to the lunch menu as opposed to the b'fast menu), and then fly back at your leisure later that same evening:idea:.

The possibilities are endless. I'm sure we'll get some great ideas and options from the combined knowledge of everyone in the AFF Community. :p

Ah, you mean the visor. Well it does keep me incognito on here and also has the added benefit of hopefully stopping any birds that decide they want to join me in the coughpit.

Although I do fly with wings that move and do also assist people in distress (and sick, lost, stranded by floodwater), alas that is where the similarity ends (no abs of steel or chiseled features).

The weird thing is, we probably have met, I do pass through DRW quite regularly. I have even been known to head to the terminal for a coffee (if I am desperate!)

I am thinking of a run SYD-MEL on a Sunday returning on the Monday. Both flights around 1500 so would make for some good F lounging, then could have a snack dinner in the Dom J lounge using arrival access (if still hungry or just a few beverages)

Expertflyer still shows JQ35 as a Day 6 flight in April
Still bookable for SAt 7 April, Sat 14 April, Sat 21 April

I wonder if I'd be allowed another night in SYD each week followed by a leisurely return home on Fridays via MEL.

On a quick interrogation of EF in April (doing +-3 around 5 April I am getting this for SYD, MEL Int routes)

If you work for who I think you do, you might know a couple of people I know.

I'd say that would depend on whether you spend an extra 5K on the BA fare.

Then again there's that saying "if you're skating on thin ice you may as well dance"! :D

SYD

JQ35 .2.4567 SYD 1500 MEL 1630
It seems that post March 24th, the only Sat that JQ35 (Syd 1500 to Mel 1630) is flying is Sat April 7th; otherwise it is: Sun, Tues, Thurs.

Note: From Sun Aptil 22nd onwards, I can't seem to find JQ35 availability on Sundays (or Saturdays)!!! but on both Sat 23 June and Sun 24th June there is JQ35...something strange is going on! Just to add that from July, JQ35 seems to switch back to Saturdays, not Sundays! Confusing...

QF020 Tue BNE 0500 SYD 0645
