To celebrate the opening of our new Qantas Business International Lounge in Brisbane Airport we will be hosting an opening event with champagne breakfast at the new Business Lounge on the 18th of October.

For a chance to win an invitation, send Red Roo a private message briefly detailing the one thing you would most like to see in the new Lounge. Please include your Qantas Frequent Flyer number and ensure the contact details listed are current. Entries close 5pm (Sydney time) Friday 7 October 2016. Please put 'Brisbane Business Lounge’ in your subject line.

There is no word limit however please keep your message short and sweet ;)

NB/ As always, this post has been approved by Australian Frequent Flyer (AFF). They have no financial interest in this offer, and will not be involved in the judging process. The AFF admin team, including Moderators are welcome to participate. This event will be occurring in Brisbane and we unfortunately are unable to provide flights for interstate residents.

Sounds a great chance to visit the new BNE lounge and report back to AFF. :)

Good luck to all who can attend (I'll be in Washington DC that day).

I wish I'd seen this thread earlier ;)

I shall get thinking what I want to see in December when I travel through BNE to NRT!

Sounds like a great competition, busy with the folks down from interstate so won't be able to enter, but I have a few items I would like to see in the lounge..... maybe that can wait for the next red planet survey.:)

Message sent - helps that I work at the airport.....

I want ice cream. Maybe I'm just not looking properly but I can never find any. Would love a freezer with a couple of tubs of ice cream to make a sundae or cone from.

So non-australian residents include flights? Great, I'm in! ;)

Seriously good to see the new international lounge in Brisbane.

Not if the ice-cream is in large containers. I can see a few possible health concerns here (and I think it would be harder to police than the usual buffet). Individual servings that are sealed would be OK. They had this in a lounge in Rome but unfortunately the fridge seemed to have defrosted a bit at one stage as the ice creams were all covered in refrozen ice droplets. From memory when we were there Alitalia was going bust again.

The Hilton Executive lounge in Surfers Paradise has this mini fridge with Connoisseur Ice Cream sticks in it, so delicious!

I would prefer extremely fast NBNor internet > 400mb per second , I would not mind paying according to my status!!

This is what we need :D

<champagne popsicle>

I win !! You can all stop entering now :p

That looks lovely, I can't quite read the brand though, are they any good?

They used to have it in the Singapore lounge before the refurbishment. Similar to what you see in any ice cream shop - freezer with a lid opening up to a couple of metal tubs of the stuff. Not sure what the health concerns would be above the rest of the food??

The health issues with ice cream relate to the amount of time the ice cream has been in the refrigerator, constantly, thawing, refreezing, thawing .......

Especially if in winter, it might have been there for months! (I say this as someone who was once admitted to the emergency ward of a hospital after suffering acute food poisoning from contaminated ice cream consumed in an airport!!!)

Ice cream always available in the AKL F lounge. Mini tubs of kapiti. Had some today.

while I am no longer P1 and am unlikely to fly international out of Brisbane - my hope is the lounge offers some additional benefits for the highest status flyers. A secluded zone, reserved seating, table service, better food and grog could be options. I appreciate that with no F services and given it is a home port with little competition these are unlikely!
