I am going representing another group

I see you didn't win the HFC contest ;)

Question is though, how are you planning on getting up there at that time of the morning? I presume you wont be dragging the family along with you?

We have quite a few people going now.
Wonder who were the lucky winners here ?

I get the feeling (whether rightly or wrongly) that there weren't many, hence the excess passes coming to HFC/AusBT? But perhaps I'm assuming too much. FWIW, I will be there.

Excellent!! Please post lots of pics for those of us who aren't :)

I received an invite a couple of days ago - will be going along but alas, no champagne for me as I have to go back to work afterwards.

Nice offer. Naturally I can't as I am working.

Will you be featured on the next Ready for Takeoff?

From the Gold Coast it would be about ~$28 each way... which is a complete rip-off compared to petrol and even parking! Plus it takes close to 2 hours by train, but could be under an hour in the car (depends on traffic).

But no champagne to celebrate. $56.00 bucks and a couple of hours to read relax and catch up on the world seems a fair trade off after, accounting for petrol tolls wear and tear and traffic stress and of course airport parking. :D :D :D Oh and the ability to post pictures and reports here on AFF on the journey home on the train :D

My understanding was we weren't meeting at the Int Airport though, so will the train actually be a viable option?

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Under an hour on a week day morning coming into BNE. No chance, unless you leave at 4am :).

Good point. I just sent Qantas Social Media an email to confirm the exact location where we have to meet.

The invitation seems to imply that we are not meeting at the terminal. If you are coming in via train, you'd still need to take additional transport to the offices.

Assuming that the ride is free (or the drivers simply don't care much), you could utilise the orange T Bus to achieve this transit.

The T Bus is free, at least IME.

But thanks for pointing this out, I'd assumed the meet spot was the offices on the lower level of the terminal!! Parking at Skygate will be cheaper than the terminal that's for sure! :)

I can't remember whether it is completely free or requires a valid BP or voucher in order to be free, else $5 per pax. Sometimes I know they don't care and just tell you to pile on. My gut would tell me it's free, however.

According to Brisbane Airport Corporation - Airport Transfer Bus

Brisbane Airport offers a complimentary Airport Transfer Bus (formally TBus) that can transfer you between the Domestic & International Terminals and Skygate.

(It used to cost for terminal transfers, but I think it was always free to Skygate/DFO)

No mention of boarding passes or similar. I'll be parking at work, then wandering over to the domestic terminal to catch the bus.

Meeting spot is at the International Terminal.

Nothing to do with this lounge invitation but for reference - on Tuesday evening I used the T Bus (still labelled as such) for an international to domestic transfer and as I showed my QF boarding pass the driver said it wasn't necessary.
