So what is the record for Status Credits earned in a year?

With my loyalty to the kangaroo this year, I should pass 5,000 SCs.

Has anyone hit LTG in 1 year?

:)

This year QF gave out presents to the high ranking FFs.

One colleague received an ipad (not sure if v1 or v2).
Probably does weekly MEL-PER in J, monthly MEL-SYD, and did 5-6 trips to HKG/PVG.

I would estimate about 8,000 SCs..

The amount and class (J/F) my boss flies makes the most frequent on flyers on here look like amateurs, myself included! I would actually refuse to fly as much as he does, even in the luxury classes. Multiple weekly travel domestic and at a minimum flights to London, Asia and the US every 3-4 weeks.

Not sure what he got this year but last year it was a F class holiday, all expenses - I believe there was actually a choice and Apple / Bose goodies were up for grabs too.

In my opinion not worth it for the lifestyle compromise, but I know some people on here would be loving it ;)

I have a month left and have 4990sc and will be at least 5430 by the end of May. It would be higher but I am now trying to fly other airlines when possible - whats the point flying an essentially coughpy airline now that I have LTG. Have my first Y+ virgin flight tomorrow, looking forward to it

Earning that many SC’s, do you keep track of your total earn over 14,000? I just wonder if you’re anywhere close to 28,000 for the purposes of testing what they might give you, air or something else :p

I would only probably be around 17k as I have only been flying this intensly for the last 2.5 years. I'm sure I will hit 28k in the next few years but not holding my breath for anything. Pretty sure my boss hasnt had anything and he would be getting close to 10k sc per year as he flies F and travels more than me. I'll ask him

The mythical 28K point though is I believe for QF only SCs rather than OW SCs.

My top one year would have been 6000 if I had credited to QF rather than AA.

jasecoop - even if you are flying other airlines have you considered sticking with OW airlines, crediting to QF to get WP for the year and then crediting to AAdvantage?

Hadnt thought of it to be honest but may do it with Cathay, easier to fly out of adelaide to asia. My goal would be to try and get my status back up with singapore, just wish the timetable worked out better for my most common destinations

I have not had anything like 5K for a 12 months period.

Highest ever amount to expire for me at the end of my October "year" was over 3400.

Last year is was only a little over 2500, but I was putting a lot of travel to AirNZ for *G benefits.

When I came across AFF (/FT) in late 2004, I had accumulated ~4K lifetime SC/TC's since 1998. Now ~6½ years later I have over 20K.

That can all depend on how you organise your work arrangements. I think last year I had 10 trips to South Africa, 4 to Ghana, 2 or 3 to US and one to Europe. Personally I hate the plane side of things but with all the travel it worked out that I was away about 35% of the time. Most of the trips were 8 days and when i'm home, I work from home. Not sure I could go back to an office. In summary, my lifestyle hasnt been better but you need to work with a flexible company

I might hit 2400 this year and it makes me sick...

Don't you how you guys do it with a smile... =)

Your surname would be Bingham would it Jobu?

No but I feel like him sometimes... Especially when I come home, the stark contrast of my life on the road (suites, limos, m star restaurants...) to my home life (rolling in the mud with my kids) is quite hilarious, but I love being home more than anything.

Unfortunately I passed that milestone within my first 3 months this year, but most of my flights are long haul J, which I do 1-3 times a month these days, as opposed to domestic Y class, which was how I first qualified for WP a number of years ago (and will never do that again! Hats off to you who do!)

I remember my worst year was 2395 SC's, half was a F RTW and the rest was discount economy or K class economy around Australia. I vowed not to travel that much again. I then met my wife, so that put paid to my travel :p

I like playing with my kids on the weekend, jumping on the trampoline and playing with them in their play room. Nothing more satisfying than tiring them out and watching/hearing them sleep after a busy day :D

Damn, I miss them after bring away for a night. Don't know how some of you juggle the home/work travel conundrum

Actually, I wonder how many SC's bossreggie has done in the past 12 months?

I think the most SCs I have had in a year was 1400 SCs and it felt like it was a lot of flying.

Generally I am content in achieving Platinum status and have no great desire to do more flying. See what the new year brings....
