Qantas just put out this tweet...

QantasAirways Qantas Airways

There’s a new spirit. We’ll be making some important announcements this morning, stay tuned on here from 10am to find out more #anewspirit

I wonder if August 24th has come early....

Aug 24 has not come early, it's likely to be branding and customer loyalty based announcements rather than specific International QF news.

Not the "E" word!

In any event, I'll have to disagree with you. Given the advertising and AJ's video release, I'm backing something more significant.

Having read the ad in the Australian I might have to agree . I have started another thread as its an announcement that seems more significant than that promised for Aug 24 and moved some posts!

The new Spirit of Qantas....................JETSTAR

Let's hope in all seriousness this is a good announcement....

I love an Irish accent however hearing one talking about still calling Australia home seems odd.

Also posted on the QF FaceBook page - I have to assume this is the major news we have been expecting. I might even watch it live if possible ;) Good day to work from home :)

JQ being gifted a 744 would be a bad enough outcome for me!

I'm expecting code share galore!

Maybe they'll announce it on board???

Upon landing from QF flight SYD-MEL:

"And please be careful when removing items from the overhead compartment as they may have moved during flight. We'd like to take this opportunity and to thank you for flying with Jetstar"

I think "The Australian" should be called "The Qantas" today, seriously, it has a wrap around of the front page, another on the Business front page and both have QF ads at the bottom of the articles!

My guess would have to be some sort of revamp/improvements to the FF program. Maybe introducing platinum one?

Then again, that dosen't really fall into the 'New Spirit' category.

*Getting completely unreasonable*

Maybe they are retraining all staff to make them happy and pleasant people to deal with?

"If you are traveling on a forward QF flight, please collect your bags and re-check your luggage at the JQ check-in desk."
