Well, Christmas is coming to AFF!!!!

American Express is a company that keeps giving!

If you collect Qantas points and prefer to fly Qantas, these are the cards for you.

American Express is feeling REALLY REALLY generous. They are now offering Qantas Ultimate Amex with 112500 points with free Qantas domestic flights thrown in. This is be best bang for the buck card if you are looking for Qantas points.

Essentially, it is 112500 Qantas points + free domestic Qantas flight for $450 annual fee.

The bonus Qantas points will come as long as you meet the following spending criteria:

- 5,000 Qantas Points after your first Card spend within 3 months of the Card approval date.

- 105,000 Qantas Points after you spend $1,500 on purchases with your new Card within 3 months of the Card approval date.

- 2,500 extra Qantas Points[SUP]1[/SUP] after your first Card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services

APPLY HERE

Amongst other things, you also get the following:

- complimentary access up to two entries per calendar year to the American Express Lounge at Sydney International (Kingsford Smith) Airport T1.

- Complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance.

- For free flights, you can book the flight in the name of another person;

- 0% p.a. on balance transfers for the first 12 months — A one-off credit plan establishment fee of 1% applies to any balances transferred (NOTE: Spend the $1500 on purchases first as well as 1 Qantas services to get the bonus points first, pay it all off, BEFORE doing this).

I don't think I have ever seen an offer like this from Amex. It even eclipses the previous 110K Velocity offer from Amex. It is simply the best card on offer right now, as long as you meet the salary criteria (65K per year), even though based on AFF's past feedback, Amex could still approve your application even if you meet the salary criteria, subject to their discretion.

You can APPLY HERE.

If you really don't want Ultimate card (or cannot meet their salary criteria), you can always look at their Premium Card or their discovery card. Please see the table below with application links for each of the cards, as well as comparisons between the cards:

Great summary provided above.

I would love for someone to use my referral link - http://amex.com.au/refer/lisaaAVEs

This would really help me get to HKG next year, as per my thread in another section of this forum.
I've had this card for a year now, it's a great card to have. I just successfully applied for the amex explorer card using a referral link.

Appreciate anyone using my link. Thanks

Glad to share that our offer has also been updated to 110,000 points if you apply by Jan 31, 2017, and have not held an amex in the last 18 months (may exclude corporate and supplementary cards). Min spend of $1,500 for the large chunk of bonus points; and bonus 2,500 on your first QF spend which also triggers your free flight.

The free return QF flight on this card is excellent value, feel free to PM me with any questions about maximising this ;)

While the annual fee of $450 is significant, you could consider it paying 0.4 cents per point, which you could then redeem at 2-4 cents per point (or more) plus have a free flight!

Another way to look at it is almost half way to a 280k round the world business class ticket.

Would greatly appreciate anyone who contributes a few points to our next holiday by using Mrs Excel's referral link. Then, click on the grey card in the top right corner.

A great deal from American Express. I've been enjoying the benefits of the card since signing up earlier this year. The card also supports the following mobile wallets; Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay - very handy when on the go!

I would greatly appreciate anyone who uses my referral link: http://amex.com.au/refer/stephhfpjt

I am close to my 280k target and this would get me there! Thanks

I'll throw my link into the mix as well.
Both my current credit cards were signed up using links from here earning others bonuses - would love to join in the free points! :)

Mine links to the Premium card - you just have to select the Ultimate card on the right hand side for the same 112,500 point offer.

Australia's highest-earning Velocity Frequent Flyer credit card: Offer expires: 21 Jan 2025
- Earn 60,000 bonus Velocity Points
- Get unlimited Virgin Australia Lounge access
- Enjoy a complimentary return Virgin Australia domestic flight each year

Once these points post we will have enough to book our OneWorld classic award in business honeymoon trip. The only down side is that it also means I need to start planning the wedding!

Ok I guess it’s time to make my pitch with my referral link here too! I signed up a couple of weeks ago using a forum members link so hoping to feel some reciprocal love!

My referral link can be found HERE

As everyone is aware by now signing up though my referral link will get you a cool 110k bonus QFF points after spending $1,500. Plus another 2.5k points if you buy a Qantas product (assume this needs to be a flight). And of course if anyone is kind enough to use my link I’ll get 20k pts for myself (and after our recent trip to the US we could sure use them!).

If you enjoyed reading about me stuffing my face and hiking in America, appreciated my contributions to the exploitation of the Bank West QF Transaction Account, or for some reason just happen to think I’m a good bloke then please sign up using my referral and you can be sure I will put the points to good use (as well as being extremely appreciative).

Main features of this card are:
· $450 annual fee
· Free domestic return flight each year
· A couple of passes to the AMEX lounge in SYD
· Complimentary domestic and international travel insurance
· 0% p.a. balance transfer for 12months
· A great earn rate of up to 3pts per $ spent.

This is a great card by itself and the bonus point offer makes it a no-brainer IMO. Whether you want to keep the card long term or cancel after the bonus points hit your account for a pro-rata rebate on the annual fee, you can’t go wrong with it.

So if I’ve managed to hook you in and you love cheap points as much as I do then please APPLY NOW!

Thank you very much to the member who signed up using Mrs Excel's referral link. One thing to advise - we hold the QF Premium at the moment, not the ultimate - the referral came through at 15k as opposed to the 20k that has been earlier quoted.

I'll be signing up using a referral link too in January :)

Received my card last week, after clicking on a referral link here....can't remember who's....so if someone got the bonus...great..it was probably me.

As an update for the people that already have an AMEX card....I already had 2, an Amex Gold Credit Card....with no rewards or benefits...also no yearly membership fees (never used it)
and I also had an QANTAS AMEX Premium card, which got me an 80 000 sign up bonus about 6 months ago.
I applied for this card and received an email within a couple of hours to contact Amex. They told me they see I already have 2 cards and can not take the application because of this, saying that an application will only be accepted if I only had a maximum of 1 other card......so I offered to cancel the Gold no rewards card...which I did...and within 24 hours the new card was approved.

I have received my bonus 5000 points upon first use of the card, now waiting for the big bonus after I hit $1500 send...shouldn't take too long.

So yeah, if you have an AMEX already...seems they don't mind...as long as you don't have 2 or more.

I did have a $30 000 limit on my Gold card that I cancelled, and expected a nice limit on my new card, but was only approved for $3000....bummer, lucky I don't plan to use it after receiving all the points bonuses

If anyone would like to use my referral here it is, will be appreciated.

Hi Jhig, just wondering if you've hit the minimum spend yet and the points have posted. We're in a similar situation to you.

A reminder that anyone posting a referral link must follow the guidelines specified in the sticky at the start of the referral sub-forum.

Specifically:

Update 31 March 2015: Just to be 100% clear. Both the Referrer and Referee must receive the benefit which needs to be clearly defined, transparent and stated in the post. Links to "affiliate-type" sites where the Referrer receives an incentive/bonus, and there is no clear benefit to the Referee for using that link is not acceptable.

Posts that do not have the required information will be deleted.

Jhig did you end up getting the full bonus points?

I currently have the Qantas American Express Premium Gold Card and was after this one. Not sure whether to cancel that card before I apply or to just apply for this one. $450 is a lot to risk for no points though.

Yep, reached my $1500 spend ($1508 to be exact) and received my 105 000 bonus....received 5000 points on first spend. all I have to do is now spend on Qantas products and I should get the last 2500 of the bonus. Yesterday 111 508 was transferred to my QFF account...so no going back.

So...AMEX are pretty lenient in their T&C's
1....I am an existing customer...since 1999
2....I had 2 Amex cards already....had to cancel one to get approved for this one
3....All bonus points received, (except the 2500 on Qantas spend...yet)

So if anyone would like to click on my referral link, I will get another 20 000 points per referral....would be appreciated
