    What cheeses me off

Yes. I understand that. The problem is that phone will not access the videos on the camera when connected to the camera wifi. I'm not trying to access the internet using the camera wifi (seriously is anyone that dumb?), I'm trying to access the videos on the dashcam. It used to work and then...

    What cheeses me off

My car dashcam has wifi for easy access/download to videos. When iphone is connected to the camera wifi I get a warning to say the wifi isn't connect to the internet, and the iphone refuses to do anything sensible in accessing the camera data. This started happening after an update... You...

Japan - VA or QF, or JQ

China airlines and Eva air have good pricing. Return in business for the cost of qantas business one way. Negatives - 6 to 19 hour transits, and looks like an airport change in some cases. I skipped reading the entry rules for Taiwan. I'll keep those on hold. thanks for the suggestions. Watching...

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

Seriously, I'm not sure you've read any of my posts. The limited information I've provided in thread was stated with clear conditions. the only way to claim that info is false is to ignore those conditions. The value of points is entirely about cost. What value do I get for my points? It is an...

Japan - VA or QF, or JQ

I don't know about a product launch. I based my view on the domestic product, I find virgin business meals to be consistently good. Having said that my recent flights to cairns suggested catering was loaded for the return in Brisbane. So not sure of the catering departing cairns which they will...

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

Drip Feeding???????? Isn't this called Revenue Management. Virgin Australia didn't just invent this stuff in 2023. It's been around for years and years. IATA even offer training courses in Revenue Management. https://www.iata.org/en/training/pages/revenue-management/

Japan - VA or QF, or JQ

I've check Q and pricing is looking pretty good. ~$2100. I could probably buy a lot of transfers for $1000 ANA and JAL seem to only fly from SYD. Which might be good - first lounge. Pricing in economy is comparable. JAL is doing something funny with premium economy flex pricing. But Flex...

Japan - VA or QF, or JQ

After following along with the VA flies to Japan thread. I've now hit a point of actually having to decide about flying to Japan. Haneda has been recommended as the preferred arrival point, due to closeness to where I need to be. But I've arrived at Narita a few times and have no issues with...

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

And you know that this was changed on purpose how? Please present the evidence to support your claim. In this thread you've specifically raised the value of the points. Your title says the points are worthless. Therefore, in this thread, YES it does relate to the points cost. Otherwise, the OP...

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

Hmm, the value hasn't changed. The cost is the same. you just can't find any awards on singapore. There are too elements, availability and value. Lack of availability is not devaluation... If the problem is availability with VA where there are award available with SQ, one solution is to transfer...

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

Like I said, I haven't looked into the exchange rate since there was a 15% penalty.

Velocity points now worthless in 2023 (extreme stealth devaluation)

Interesting thread... I note the OP has not address the obvious solution - just transfer to points to SQ if there is plenty of availability over there. I'm not up to date on the rules for transfer, but last time I looked into it, there was a 15% fee. then there is the meaning of devaluation...

So I have 2 offers with OHG, stay 3 nights before end of april for platinum, and also stay 2 nights for gold and 5 nights for platinum by, I'm not sure when, maybe end May. Any experiences on how these are going to work out. I've actually got 4 nights before end of April. Wondering if I'll be...

Qantas Advertises "Fully Refundable" - but it Isnt!

I'm sorry, if you can't understand the meaning of lapse in context, I can't help you. Maybe take this over to the grammar thread... It's the LACK of action that is explicitly covered by Qantas. The OP is talking about a case of taking an action, to cancel. NOT doing nothing. This is...

Qantas Advertises "Fully Refundable" - but it Isnt!

Actually, the value of a fare in a given class will change when a sale starts or ends. This happens all the time. The warning from Qantas makes it very clear, explicitly, that the value of the fare can change and will change.

Qantas Advertises "Fully Refundable" - but it Isnt!

I was just reflecting on your post. you don't know what "true international airline" means, but you've declared qantas is one. Very confusing. now saying you're uncertain about "true" only adds to the confusion. I'm not sure assessment can be objective if the meaning of what is being assessed...
