Sensible. I've seen a 1.75 seat passenger literally swallow the timid guy next to him and block a 1/3 of the aisle when there were spare seats elsewhere on a SYD-CBR recently. No action taken. Virgin needs to consider all passengers.

When your size exceeds the seat, the excess has to go somewhere. Either onto your fellow traveller(s), or the aisle, or both. Not fair all round.

On face value this article seems a bit on the harsh side. However, it is reported in the OZ media, so bits must have been left out (to promote sales), and secondly, there are passengers and there are passengers. (and everyone has a memory of the their understanding of this notion).

I think you might be right about the astronaut incident beachbabe. The only English speaking accent I have trouble with is Irish. I just get lost sometimes and the speed of some doesn't help.

At least in Melbourne you get a seat. Waited at Sydney Central with my $16 plus fare deducted from my Opal card only to watch 3 airport trains in a row go past absolutely chockers. Full of passengers with their $3.20 fares to destinations many multiples of the Central to the stop after Mascot...

I think Virgin have had a few mainframe problems the last few weeks (eg the couples flying together problem and only 1/2 SCs and points coming through). Might be a big backlog.

So will the future just boil down to the added expense of a 3-pilot rule?

retirement=freedom. easy to maintain Platinum status if you can structure travel purchases around airline sales. (all bar 2 of my 55+ flights last Virgin year were s class)
