What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

“The understanding is that the move to accelerate the float plans comes after Guzman y Gomez soared by more than 30 per cent on the first day of trade for its IPO on Thursday.” lol 1719300361 Also: “Perhaps this time around, Virgin has a key cornerstone investor for the deal – potentially an...

    Has flying J ruined you?

An amusing take. Ruined for life! https://www.theage.com.au/national/the-unexpected-downside-of-finally-experiencing-business-class-20240621-p5jnor.html

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

What I found most interesting about the article was the point that fund managers don't want to invest in mid-market companies. Where's the growth gonna be when you're being squeezed from both directions (Qantas and Jetstar)? Hence the argument that Bain can get more $$$ by selling to an airline...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

The main argument of the article is that selling Virgin to another airline is better for Bain (as it's likely to get more $$$ that way) and the flying public (as it will lead to more investment and competition). I agree with many of the points. Possible buyers mentioned are SQ (of course)...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

Calling a major program change a “flop” only a few month into a long term strategy is quite something 🙄🙄🙄 Many QFF members I’ve spoken with recently haven’t even heard about it. Give it time. We’ll get an initial sense of how Qantas really feel about it on Aug 29 - the next earnings...

Qantas rolls out Classic Plus Flight Rewards

What a ridiculous comment. I booked PER-YVR when on sale recently which was 358k points + $1341 return in J for CR+. That's 70k points more than CR and a few hundred in taxes. But I got to fly the exact dates and times I wanted, without the hassle of trying to find CR. So I’m happy. Comparing...

Qantas A380 reliability issues creeping up again?

QF1 tomorrow delayed by 16 hours 🤦‍♂️ In-laws were booked in J rewards with Rome as final destination. Took a couple of phone calls but managed to get them rebooked onto EK codeshare tonight so they can make their cruise on Tuesday stress free!

Qantas to move to new Perth Airport terminal, expand Perth hub

Maybe they are giving up on the idea of moving to T1/2 any time soon and want to substantially increase capacity out of T3/4?

Qantas to move to new Perth Airport terminal, expand Perth hub

Perth radio is reporting that Jetstar will move to Terminal 1/2 in a few weeks, so Qantas can accommodate the new Paris flights and launch more international destinations from T3/4. South east Asia was mentioned (Jakarta perhaps?). The Jetstar move would simplify domestic connections to its...

Classic Award Booking Cancellation Fees & Refund Processing Time

Well I tried to get their social media (FB Messenger) team to resolve this. They replied telling me to call the contact centre. Spent 45 mins with incompetent call centre staff, with multiple transfers to people who didn’t know what to do, before hanging up in frustration. Went back to...
