No the QF94/,96 are regular flights. The 95/96 are not daily extras on the route - mostly during more peak demand times - not related to any other issues. My partner and I are off MEL-LAX tomorrow 3 june.
On time departure noted on flight status.
Interesting there are 2 departures LAX-MEL on 1 june 2024 -QF 94 and 96 one a 789 and one a A380.
Maybe the extra sflight is a catchup from a previous delay.
Interesting Qantas is not the only airline hit with delays Oz to the USA-
UA98 LAX-MEL 789 cancelled due to a crew scheduling disruption after a nearly 2 hour delay. Return UA99 MEL-LAX on 6/2 cancelled as a result.
We're currently within the 24 hour pre departure period - but cannot check in - computer says its a QF IT fault !
I would be surprised if QF wouldn't check the bag all the way if you're flying another another OneWorld carrier (e.g., Alaska) even on a separate ticket --- I've never had an issue with that.I had hoped that there would be a way of interlining our bags from MEL thru to ANC to make things easier but it looks like this doesnt happen any more. I thought I would see if I could "kindly"request the QF agent to check them thru but that looks problematic too.

It's very much a YMMV situation.I would be surprised if QF wouldn't check the bag all the way if you're flying another another OneWorld carrier (e.g., Alaska) even on a separate ticket --- I've never had an issue with that.
That is QF policy where first sector is QF reward ticket. It's very much a YMMV situation.
I've had staff at the QF MEL First check-in deny through checking on a QF points then AA cash itinerary even though the rules allow it.
What does the following cover then? That is QF policy where first sector is QF reward ticket.
How have qantas been at transferring onto different flights when things have gone wrong. No, for my sins, I'm a Qantas regular traveller.
I did have a backup plan to request a transfer on SYD or MEL to SFO on UA if the MEL A380 service is signifigantly delayed.
Having flown several signifigantly delayed A380s SYD- LAX in the last 6 months with missed connections , I am a bit stressed out .
My ultimate destination is Anchorage and originally we would have got there on the one ticket out of Australia.
However , the AA LAX-SEA flight was cancelled and Alaskan wouldn't come to the party and release award seats to replace it - so we have ended up with an award ticket thru to SFO and paid ticket SFO to Anchorage.

I mentioned the UA cancellations just to show that it is not just Qantas that has this kind of problem!
If no photos, then it didn’t happenFrom AUH just now. 3 rats in the desert sand, one seems to be having something done.
EDIT: Photos not uploading...will try to amend.
After a bit of very polite ranting, quite excellent. How have qantas been at transferring onto different flights when things have gone wrong.
Ive had this argument with the Checkin at SYD and MEL. Even giving them the printout.Exemptions apply for customers travelling on a oneworld separate PNRs when using a combination of award travel and revenue travel.'
an't tell who is who in the desert zoo, though.

If Tatooine had a lounge as good as new EY F is, I'd happily put up with the likes of Watto...!Looks like Tatooine with its twin suns!
