If there was a second DSC in the same calendar that would likely suggest that the demand/supply balance has improved in the customer’s favour and additional demand is needed to fill planes.

If you book too early on the opening day of the promo it can be seen on the backend as being booked the day before the promo starts. The timezone of the promo T&Cs doesn’t match the timezone of the computer systems.

I think it is much harder than it should be for Gold members (including LTG) to secure Classic Reward Seats and points upgrades, but it’s certainly easier than for those with lower status. It’s the sweet spot for LifeTime status that provides significant benefits for frequent flyers. Lifetime...

My hope with aiming to achieve LTG is to have lounge access for my economy flights and to make it a little easier to use my points for flying, whether that being securing elusive classic reward seats or securing upgrades. WP is very nice, but maintaining it indefinitely is not realistic for me...

QF may continue to fly indirect as well if they have sufficient demand and could even eventually move to using the A350 for PER-LHR and as the A380s get retired flying SYD-SIN-LHR as well. There are some advantages to using the same aircraft type for different routes to the same destination.

This year’s promo has worked well for me, but I’m already keen for another one. I do wonder if this will be the calendar year QF starts doing a second DSC promo (perhaps targeted) again?

The lounge wifi landing page indicates that it’s an “adlchair” lounge. The food was better than the QANTAS Club, but a small selection. Self-serve drinks too. Had to go to the QANTAS Club to get barista prepared coffee (or if wanting to get served a drink at the bar, rather than make one...

If I was buying a car worth $50k and the car dealer said I’ll sell it to you for $100k I’d walk out without purchasing it. Classic Plus Rewards leave a similar bad taste.

QF used to have 2 A380 services return between Australia and LHR. They have slashed QF capacity to LHR despite a growing population. It has made the way I want to use my points (J/F return on Classic Rewards to LHR) so much harder than it was before.

January is a busy travel time

It is nice to get notice, but it’s due to an earlier delay. This would be related to water pumps breaking down on an A380. Friends of mine were already in Singapore (having arrived on a different QF flight) when they heard their onwards flight to London would be significantly delayed.

And that’s a whole debate in itself. Some think it needs more chilli, some think it’s way better with no chilli
