I think probably the “improvements” may be more aimed at the Bronze travellers who earn a lot of points on the ground and fly occasionally rather than those of us looking for Platinum/Platinum One to be made better and LT status easier to achieve

It certainly is frustrating that not only does MEL no longer have the QF9/10 A380 service, we won‘t even have the 787 connection to PER.

As a WP not being able to visit MEL F ahead of QF9 makes QF9 unattractive unless significantly cheaper than going via SIN.

I didn’t use up any points. I still have enough for multiple return trips to where I want to go. I’m sure I’m not alone in this. By the time I found out this promo was on there were no J classic rewards left for the route I need at the time of year I would have leave to go

I’m still trying to progress towards LTG and don’t have Points Club so prefer to fly revenue atm but if I had LTG I’d have definitely wanted to secure a return trip to LHR in J on this promo. Not having to go in the upgrade lottery would be nice

I would have needed return to make it worthwhile. I checked too late. Plenty of points for multiple return trips, but hard to use them.

That’s not cheap. Flying indirect rather than direct where possible can give better value. However if you are based in SYD you have more limited options as QF only flies to some destinations from SYD

Yes, if maintaining a balance of 1+ million points was enough to get P1 there would be a lot more P1s here. Earning 1 million points in a year is far beyond what I expect to ever earn in a year for the foreseeable future.

I would think the European summer would be one of the hardest times to try to get seats released to London unfortunately when they think they can easily fill the plane. I would love to get a set released around that time of year too.

I think for these kind of staff perks seniority in the business and length of tenure are often factors. So all else being equal someone who has been at the airline longer may have higher priority.

Some friends of mine are pretty cheesed off at being downgraded from paid PE to Y both ways to LHR despite one of them holding LTG. They had specifically paid for PE because they don’t want to fly Y anymore. They had put in for a points upgrade to J, but didn’t get that either. After that...
