Need help choosing a frequent flyer program for regular trips Brisbane- Amsterdam

Re: Need help choosing a frequent flyer program for regular trips Brisbane- Amsterda I'll throw in a slightly different viewpoint. If you're flying SQ to Europe 2 - 3 times per year (and perhaps with some domestic flights on VA too), I'd check out the maths for a mix of KrisFlyer and VA...

Qantas is refunding change fees (and potentially CC fees) on recent purchases

Thanks for the update - maybe they're (slowly) working through the fix? YMMV - my view is that Qantas move like greased lightning when there's the opportunity to gouge us (CC fees, fuel fines etc. etc.), so the principle of getting the refund trumps the question of whether the effort is worth...

Qantas is refunding change fees (and potentially CC fees) on recent purchases

It might force Qantas to concentrate a bit more on their IT implementation, which wouldn't be a bad thing :p

Qantas is refunding change fees (and potentially CC fees) on recent purchases

I thought I'd start a new thread to highlight this as I now have a definitive answer to the questions on my initial thread, which has a more obscure title While purchasing a Qantas flight using a voucher from a ticket I cancelled in 2015, I was quoted a "Total Amount Due" of $20 on the Payments...

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

You're welcome :) Sometime this week, I might start a new thread to highlight it a bit more.....

    Strangest checkin luggage?

Not as unusual as some on this thread, but I once checked in twelve pounds of marzipan for a flight from the UK to the Caribbean. The sister of a friend of mine was getting married and was going to use it for the wedding cake (apparently it's really difficult to get hold of marzipan in the...

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

It seems that way! I wonder whether the ACCC would be interested - the fact that I got an immediate no-quibble refund rather than a pro-forma brush-off suggests that QF know they're on dodgy ground  That would be one possible conclusion, for sure. I'm not a web designer, but surely it...

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

SUCCESS :) Sent QF a message via their website yesterday (mentioning that charging my credit card for a larger amount than the "Total amount Due" on the Payment Page was misleading and against ACCC rules), and received an e-mail today: "We apologise for the miscommunication on qantas.com...

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

I'll send them an e-mail as 2 sets of $88 change fees are worth chasing if their website is set up incorrectly. I'll post updates onto this thread.........

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

I agree fully with you and Opusman I saw (but didn't screen-grab) a similar table that included the change fee on a page prior to the Payments Page, and I was expecting the change fee ....... my question really is; is it legal for Qantas to state one price on the Payments Page where you enter...

Charges when using a Qantas voucher - is their online procedure legal?

I've just used a voucher from a previously-cancelled Qantas flight. On the Payments Page (Step 5), the Qantas site states "Total Amount Due: $20", but on the subsequent Confirmation page (Step 6), my credit card has been charged $108, equivalent to the total amount quoted on the previous page...

    Oil price crash

Agreed, Matt - the fact that the general public and the majority of city investors don't fully (or even vaguely??) understand the timeframes, costs and risks inherent in the oil and gas industry is a major part of the problem. Plus, as mentioned, the fact that management don't seem to learn the...

    Oil price crash

In an industry with cycle-times measured in years or even decades, I accept the need for reasonable levels of financial prudence when the oil price is low but savage knee-jerk cuts every time the oil price falls (simply to please a bunch of wide boys in the city who have a 3-month time-horizon)...

    Oil price crash

To mis-quote someone, oil price forecasting was invented in order to make astrology look respectable :) I work for an oil company - currently having to commute inter-state, and with the ongoing takeovers and mergers in the industry, I'm not optimistic about my role being required for too long...

SQ Award Space - What happend?

They appear to be seasonal - the Flight Schedule option in the SQ App has the daytime SQ277 SIN-ADL flights operating 3 days / week throughout January 2016, then reverting back to the one (night-time) SQ279 flight from 1st Feb. Hopefully the daytime flights will re-appear later in the year???

    Avianca Brazil Amigo status match

At the very top of the Avianca web-page, to the left of the "Search" entry-field, there's a small Brazilian flag - clicking on this and choosing the American flag instead gives you the web-page in English (albeit in beta version)......... Hope this helps! On a separate note, I was matched to *A...

    KrisFlyer points expiring May 2016

I was looking into the answer to my related question in this thread, and spotted on the SQ website that it's possible (for a small cash or points fee) to extend the validity of KF Miles by 6 months (via the Miles Expiry tab in your KF account). From memory, the charge was US$20 or 1500 points...
