Changes to Virgin Australia Lounge Terms

I think we all know the real ‘intended purpose’ of the removal of food and beverage from lounge rule 😉 I also suspect some lounges are ‘targeted’ more than others 😉

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

Many many corporates are, trust me 😜 For the savvy travellers you can dig into the backend and make sure you aren’t booking the cough rate providers.

    IHG Hotels that recognise status

It can be a very big deal - as it depends entirely on your corporate travel portal backend provider(s). For example one I have to use plugs into a normal GDS, our global corporate rates (both fine for points / benefits) but our tight procurement team also have it pull up cheapie.com rates...

What is Virgin Australia's strategy (post-administration)?

Yes and this was noted up thread that a bunch of Bain implants would be goneski because of what happened 😉

    Virgin back to LAX?

I believe they are re-kitting a sub fleet of their largest aircraft, the 737s to achieve a world first long haul route using them 😉. It’s not going to happen anytime soon sorry, they have to sell Virgin first before anything of that magnitude happens, if ever.

Didn’t want to start a new thread… But has anyone had a slightly dodgy looking emails from Virgin business flyer asking to click a link to complete a ‘maintenance’ form? Unsure if it’s a phishing scam or glitch..?

    W Sydney opening October 1st 2023

I walked past this morning, I actually didn’t quite click that it’s actually circled by the highways, it’s basically built on a traffic island. They better have spent up big on noise insulation and air filtration!

Marriott hotels in Melbourne, which to choose? (W vs Sheraton vs Le Meridian vs Westin)

Thanks for the mini review. Staying there next week… Did you happen to ask for a ‘proper’ chair for your room to work from? If so, what was the answer? Did you put in a complaint or anything about the hard bed?

Qantas, Virgin, Qatar called to assist with Israel repatriation flights

Yup and you were correct, hardly unsurprising though as Virgin aren’t equipped anymore for operations like this in that part of the world post administration. Hear hear, adding mine.

VA2 staff tip disabled doctor out of wheelchair, triggering investigation

I think unfortunately for Virgin and their staff is that this Dr was so high profile which has helped with all the media coverage.

ACCC pressures Virgin to lift travel credit expiry [update - Virgin forced to extend]

Yes but proportionally $300m for Virgin/Bain is a lot of money is my point. I don’t think the Feds are going to shakedown Virgin or any other company for cash. Politically distasteful

Australian women dies on Qatar flight, passengers accuse QR of delayed slow response

On the account of the pasengers it seems they called for a Dr over the PA but then the deceased passenger was left alone for some time before CPR and other attention was administered. It appears the thing that’s getting the media attention was that the deceased passenger was left unattended...
