Latitude 28 Degrees $8 per month starting September 2024

Another member of the dead wood brigade, I cleared out earlier today, and just got the email to confirm closure (no attempt to retain, so obviously targeted, as others have noted above). Member since Wizard. (It will probably help someone's job metrics, to no longer have me with such high...

Targeted Velocity Double SCs or Points Offer [July 2024]

I used one of the generic links provided up thread (I have half a dozen forward (J) bookings I could make if I wanted to)... and I can confirm it is still targeted, and not at me... anyway, it is unlikely that these forward bookings will end up on Virgin without this promo, as my latest strategy...

Terrible experience with Virgin Australia and ignored at check-in

In this instance, I think it would be more on point to say, "this is Perth"... It is extremely hard to find quality, base-level staff to employ in W.A. - it is tough competing with the salaries/conditions offered by the big mines, when trying to entice competent new recruits to other jobs in Perth.

Velocity Frequent Flyer launches partnership with DiDi

If you normally use MEL T4 Uber pick up, then comparing wait times between Uber (where you walk to the Uber pick up area on the other side of the T4 parking) and DiDi (where you have to walk over to T2 Rideshare pick up area) and then in both cases wait for your allocated driver to arrive, are...

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

This has been standard since the new owners - anything in pantry is free, but everyone has to pay for items from the buy on board menu. Speaking of pantry, if one feels like a biscuit, it seems that Tim Tams are out this rotation, and replaced with a white chocolate & macadamia cookie or biscoff.

    Virgin priority boarding fail

VA does have a pre-recorded announcement to this effect - on most of my flights (when I have boarded early) the CM usually presses the button on it a couple of times during boarding... it says exactly what you are suggesting. On QF however, the CSM usually gets on the PA and mentions the same...

    Why can't MEL have a LAX-style walkway between T1/T3 and T2 airside?

Also... each international terminal (/international departure zone at airports with swing gate systems) operates as its own isolated security zone. Which means everyone entering the international area must be screened by that terminal's security screening. That doesn't happen at domestic...

Qatar Airways may buy Virgin Australia in full - what are the consequences?

This is "predatory pricing". It is illegal in Australia - the ACCC would intervene should a scenario like this develop.

    Ola closing down in Australia

When in their cars, I often talk to ride share drivers about their experiences on the different platforms, and generally there has been consensus that ola is a dud. A few said they thought it had already closed down, only one said he liked ola. In the competition between India, China & the USA...

    China Airlines business class?

IMO this is a very pleasant Scotch (I do not like single malts and only drink blended). I disagree with your assessment. I think finding it in Business Class is amazing, it is normally reserved for in-flight service on intercontinental First Class (IME on other airlines which serve it).

Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

And there are a few CMs who disappear from the cabin 5 minutes before the announcement, in anticipation of it, so they don't have to do any drink refills and last minute service requests. Personally, I hope the new CEO starts removing them from the company, so the rot at the bottom doesn't start...
