Yes same happened to me, you need to call Qatar. Best if you know what seat numbers you want, so you can just tell them the numbers.

Do a multi city search, Montreal to Doha and then Doha to Adelaide. Might have to select Doha to Adelaide flight on the next day depending on how the flights work out of Montreal. Have a play around.

Noticed there are flights into Adelaide today from Doha, but nothing into Syd or Mel. Frankfurt to Doha has been consistently available, but we need to fly into Sydney and that leg dropped off about 5 days ago and hasn't been seen since!

The 20K points for my first month of the qantas card posted on the same day as my statement, if that helps :) Good luck, hopefully the availability improves over the month, otherwise as you say, there are other options.

We've been tracking return Frankfurt > Doha > Syd and the last few days the Doha > Syd has not been available. Before that it was fine, and both flights are on the one day so if it's available, it's much easier to book all on the one day. We have just enough velocity points to transfer to...

So it's been 8 days and still no points deduction. I guess I will just keep the points in my account so that if they do process them, the flight won't be cancelled :)

Does anyone know what time of day the Singapore flights become available on Kris flyer?

Oh just realised Kris flyer opens up at 355 days in advance and velocity at 330 days, so I will probably need to book through Kris flyer anyway to get the flight and date we want. Will call velocity anyway to check but it does seem likely that i will be going through Kris flyer.

Congrats! Seems like the award availability is getting back to normal. You need to put the Qantas booking ref into the Qatar website to select seats. If it won't work you can call Qatar airways and they will do it for you, just know what seat numbers you would like 😊

Hmmm yes I was concerned about this, the trip is a year away so would only get worse in the meantime, however it's still business class for *almost* free. We will try book QR anyway since it's available earlier and use EY as a backup if things go pear shaped with QR.

Apparently it's because Qantas can't charge in Qatari Rial, so can't originate a flight there online. If you manage to call up and get through around 10am (not before, they won't wait on the line for you), you need to ask them to add it to your booking as a connecting flight, so it will charge...
