    Amex Referral GONE?!?!?!

Perhaps unrelated, but I had a referral bonus for a family member who signed up some months ago hit my account today, it could be a sign the referral system is back up and running.

Malaysian Airlines MH17 Crashes in Ukraine

KLM which also flies AMS-KUL (and which I am booked on later in the year) have been regularly overflying Ukraine on similar flight paths to MH17, so not all US/UK/EU airlines have been avoiding the area previously. I feel that the rapid statements from other airlines saying they are avoiding...

Time taken to assess requalification status and send new card

I am a Velocity Gold flying VS for the first time next month, LHR-EWR. I am very much looking forward to using the clubhouse in T3, but I am concerned because my gold gold has a review date of late July. I have easily re-qualified, but will be overseas even if velocity send the card out on...

    6 days between MXP-PRG

I have JFK-MXP in September and GVA-AMS-CGK in November. A bit more expensive at around 400AUD, but fitted my circumstances well.

I take it you are taking the JFK-MXP, PRG-NRT or similar fare?

attention red roo - resolution of award bookings ex bkk and china

I have an Australian and a UK Amex so should be able to find a card they like, especially if I ring Amex in advance. So ring Jakarta office, check it is okay, then book online and ring back to get it ticketed? Or do I do the whole booking over the phone with the Jakarta office?

[Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10April

Re: [Confirmed] QF removing [cheap] ASAs [from web booking engine Jun 26] was 10Apri Attempting to get a oneway mASA in Y CGK-SYD-MEL and they are quoting minimum 25k + 317AUD. Does this sound reasonable? Classic Award is 30k + 150USD (160AUD) but requires me to verify my card in person in...

attention red roo - resolution of award bookings ex bkk and china

Looking to book a one way classic award from Jakarta to Melbourne, but the need to have your credit card sighted in Jakarta is still in place, an impossibility from Australia! Have tried ringing QFF in Australia and they can ticket it but it will cost 30k points + 238AUD, whereas online it is...

    VA Global Wallet

Only free-free Westpac withdrawals with Qantas Cash, not Velocity Global Wallet. This is a big disadvantage of the Virgin card in my book, given that they have made other changes to match Qantas cash.

    BA Executive Club

You can transfer BA points (Avios) freely between IB and BA accounts - so you could always credit to BA and shift the points to IB when you want to redeem.

Usually a QF and VA flyer but will need a *A FF program

KF charges substantial fuel surcharges, UA does not. UA had a recent devaluation but actually reduced the number of miles required for Australia-Asia partner redemptions so there is value there. I concur for status Aegean is the way to go. Or investigate if Turkish is still doing status matches.

    Aer Lingus and Etihad

You are right, there is no earning table for EI coded flights, probably because most EI fares do not even earn points in EI's own programme. That said, I am confident you can credit any EY metal flight to EY, no matter what the code; I think I've had AZ coded, EY metal flights credited to EY...

    Aer Lingus and Etihad

You should be able to credit EI coded EY operated flight to Etihad guest, it will just more likely to be at the EI earning rate. You will get lounge access with any business of first ticket, chauffeur you would have to check with the airline.

    The Qantas Singapore Lounge

BA lounge in SIN has efficient colour printing from the desktop PCs, might be able to do via wifi as well. I particularly like the big photocopier/printers they have in LHR, good for lengthy work documents.

    BA Executive Club

BA doesn't send out membership card until you reach a new status level or request one online, so putting Austria rather than Australia would be fine. Iberia can have differnt earn rates and is even more hopeless a website than BA, so is perhaps best avoided. I agree with the other poster that...

    The Qantas Singapore Lounge

Yes, I alternate between the two, start in the BA lounge when it is quiet, move to the QF lounge after the Australian flights have left and stay there as the BA lounge fills up as there are two London flights departing within 5 minutes of each other (one being upgraded to an A380 in October).

Cheapest way of getting from LHR to London WITHOUT train or tube

Very interesting indeed, the 16GBP one way rentals could be very useful for me. On the UK site they don't seem to show up. If you do decide to use Heathrow Express, here are some discount codes and ideas: How to get a discount on Heathrow Express
