Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

I'll look into that. Never had a Diners card. My Amex was often refused, and hence couldnt use it enough to justify its cost. I currently use platinum visa for my travel insurance needs because applying for normal travel insurance with an existing medical conditions is a pain. Medicare...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

Lots of valid points. Thank you everyone. I have most certainly tried to advise airlines before flying. Most airlines require me to submit their medical forms in advance and rarely if ever does it make any difference but it is rarely noted on their system! Check-in is always surprised, and after...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

I dont think im being clear. I already pay for qantas club and am happy with lounge facilities flying qantas within Australia. I dont want anything for free just a 'sickroom' at the major international airports. There must be others like me. I see lots of old people travel who surely have...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

One day you'll find out. When you have a machine that sucks in air and delivers it deep into sick and decrepit lungs that catch infections from compost bins and garden soil, and you cough and gasp and bring up phlegm and blood... and youre standing in a toilet facility next to people washing...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

The QP SHOWER facility (sorry i did not mean toilets!) as in most lounges is perfect for me. Noone really hears me.and they are very private. The procedure i do also.makes me sweaty so a shower after is ideal. Previously flying OWA i was allowed to use most member lounges. Now i can't. I believe...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

Priority Pass is a possible solution i think. I am paying for my QP in any case as i do fly qantas domestically. But probably the best solution is a cc that gives those QP passes (if QP lets me.in when flying other OWA flights), or even buying them on internet. I only travel internationally...

Now that I'm sick... no Qantas Club access

In the past 25 years I have usually been a Silver or Platinum flyer and received Qantas Club access when flying on almost any OneWorld Alliance service and my QC fees were often waived due to status. Then my health declined and I no longer travel that much. Also my budget is a lot tighter as I...

Internal US Airport Lounges (AA) + LAX Lounge (Qantas) - Should we purchase Q Club?

Hi, I don't do my homework before flying but always assumed QC would work across the One World alliance. This is true in theory but in practise I get refused entry regularly. Just this week flying Amer.Airl. from Washington Dulles there was no Admirals Club for AA passengers, and I was directed...

50% off selected International Economy Classic Flight Rewards

I need to fly Devonport DPO to Washington IAD early feb and thought I could use the 50% offer. Unfortunately, the taxes are very high and on this route it became too complicated due to the eligible sectors. HOWEVER, when I check the Amercian Airlines website I find loads of perfect flight...

QF now charging WP for all Exit Row economy seats [CL/WP1 exempt]

Never seen people moved. I've even asked about it in particularly ridiculous cases and all I get is the 'dont sorry sir we won't crash' reassurances and they think I'm scared of flying!! My strategy in emergency with old person fumbling to open exit is count to three and tear them away to...

QF now charging WP for all Exit Row economy seats [CL/WP1 exempt]

Lol, no, I wouldn't sit there either. I need oxygen on longer flights as is. Also, I'm not that tall that I'm uncomfortable in a regular seat and I like having things at my feet and storage and screen in front of me. I'd pay not to sit there. It shouldn't be sold as a premium seat, tall people...

QF now charging WP for all Exit Row economy seats [CL/WP1 exempt]

I feel terrible taking photos of these sights, but next time I will. I should not put gender in this picture, that is unintentional. I just mean capable, or even at least plausibly capable compared to plausibly incapable. As for other frustrations, yes absolutely. I've failed to get QC access...

QF now charging WP for all Exit Row economy seats [CL/WP1 exempt]

Qantas does nothing to reward loyalty imho. And how often do I fly and see noone sitting in an emergency exit row or some old lady with a cane. That does nothing to make me feel safe in any emergency. I rather have a platinum 6ft+ male there if something happened; an experienced flier with a bit...

AKL EK lounge denial QF flight

When I flew EK (and as an EK passenger) and passed Dubai I was not allowed in the Emirates club with my QC. As I needed a bathroom for medical reasons they at least allowed me into their bathroom, but bathroom only. I think it was in KL when flying Jetstar I couldn't go into the QC because...

AKL EK lounge denial QF flight

I'm a mere QC member, as I'm now only bronze status. I find the few times I still get the chance to use a lounge it is often denied for some technical reason, or because the lounge is closed or in a different terminal. Flying Qantas less and less these days, but still consider them our flag...

QF PNG Visa failure and who is to blame?

Exactly what happened. Qantas was very nice about it and apologetic, but Qantas has let me down numerous times, despite me even being all that frequent a QF flyer because I just am not a very 'lucky' passenger when it comes to my Qantas flights it seems...

QF PNG Visa failure and who is to blame?

Yes, I worked in PNG for a few years and loved working there but is a real challenge mostly due to their bureaucracy. Most professionals won't even go there. I still don't mind going there occasionally but the visa process makes it extra hard and then Qantas... I always try to be supportive of...

QF PNG Visa failure and who is to blame?

Yes sorry, was a bit harsh. Not normally this negative... Maybe I am. Need to study to midlife crisis manual again. Apologies if I offended anyone and we don't want a negative forum here. May edit/delete my post in hindsight...

QF PNG Visa failure and who is to blame?

PNG is most unpredictable and have ridiculous charging for business visas. I used to go there but refuse to pay the exorbitant fees to go and help them. I've had valid PNG work visas and been refused to board on Qantas planes because the visa is hard to understand (for Qantas ground staff)...
