Using credit card overseas, worth the point ?

Ah my apologies - I think I took your question a little too literally. Didn't mean to condescend! I would never pay for business class so I'd just need to add the points I would have received on a saver-economy flight (which isn't much) to my cost. It's the other intangible benefits too like...

Using credit card overseas, worth the point ?

Check forex / international transaction fee. This is the amount you are purchasing your points for. The value of your point will vary depending on how you use it. If the fee is 3%, and your card earns you 2 points per dollar, each dollar you charge to the card results in the following 1. 2...

Using credit card overseas, worth the point ?

Agreed. Amex Platinum earns you 2 points per dollar for international transactions. Assuming you have a mortgage at 4% and you get to keep your cash in your offset for 2 weeks (on average) more, the cost per Amex point is 1.4c. Business return tickets from MEL - LHR is 161,500 points and $900...

    Qantas Chaffeur Drive

Hey guys - just a couple of questions on the above. When booking the airport transfer upon arrival, there was no option to select a pickup time. The flight arrival time just shows up as the default. Does this mean it's not my responsibility to inform the town car service (not that I have...

AMEX Platinum Charge Card now 120,000 points!

Extended again to 31 May 2016! My updated referral link My original review I've had the card since November last year and have used the following benefits: $200 credit for a trip to Singapore. Amex Travel’s prices were similar to other travel agents’ and I used the credit to offset the...

    Award seats - ticketing time

Nope - but the QFF points have finally been deducted, at least. They have indicated that the tickets will be issued within 24-48 hours. Apparently a system error is to blame.

    Award seats - ticketing time

Just got a call from Qantas - thanks for looking into this RedRoo (and clazman for sharing your experience!) :)

    Award seats - ticketing time

It's in March. There's no way they'll suddenly turn around and say that there was a system error and that my booking did not actually go through right? Wouldn't hold it against Qantas if they had to move me to F though. :p

    Award seats - ticketing time

Hey guys - I booked a return trip to Europe last Tuesday with Qantas but the taxes are still showing as "pending" on my credit card, and the QFF points have not been deducted. I can see the booking on my QFF page, but I've not received an itinerary or any form of email confirmation from Qantas...

Amex Plat Charge - Melbourne airport lounge

Flying out of Melbourne to London (economy) and I was wondering if there are any lounges we'd be able to get into, as there are no Priority Pass lounges in Melbourne?

    QF or EK?

Cheers - thanks! Just booked through Amex travel and managed to select seats for free on the QF website.

    QF or EK?

Couple of questions on an upcoming trip: Looking to fly out to KL and free seat selection is important to us. Qantas want $30 per seat so that's $120 between the two of us. I've read that it's possible to get an EK booking reference which would allow us to manage our booking on the EK website...

Availability on Qatar flights - QFF redemption

Thanks for the responses everyone; I did read them all but didn't have the time to respond back. Managed to book 2 x J class tickets as they opened up at the very last minute. Just wondering which lounges I'll be able to access in Heathrow and during the layover in Dubai?

Availability on Qatar flights - QFF redemption

Hey guys – I’ve got a stash of Amex Ascent Premium points that I intend to transfer over to Qantas for an upcoming last minute trip to Europe. There are business class seats available on the way home, and it’s a Qatar -operated flight. It doesn’t say “5 seats or fewer” so I am inclined to...

    Amex Plat Concierge

Ok I have just answered my own question (well the Concierge has anyway). Rewards Concierge is a means to spend your MR points if you didn’t want to pay for stuff in cash. They can help make purchases and take the amount off your MR balance with $100 being equivalent to ~13,000 MR points.

Does anyone know how the Rewards Concierge differs to the Plat Charge Concierge other that the fact that you have to pay for the former?
