I just booked HKG-KUL-MEL return on MH The QF points calculator is telling me that I will earn 60 SC for the KUL-MEL leg but 80 SC on the HKG-KUL leg. Am I looking at the right thing?

All my plans to stay at the airport is down the drain. I can't check in my bags until 3 hrs prior to departure time so I will be stuck land side. Shame that the Pod is sold out, otherwise it will be a good option. I have actually booked it for 1 night on the way back to try them out.

Funny that after what happened to MH in 2014, I still feel more comfortable flying them vs Philippine Airlines. It may be different if Philippine is part of OW and MH is not.

From my experience flying Y with both MH & EK to Asia, MH does not pay any special attention to QF WP but EK may (50% in my case). With CX, the chief purser with a list on his/her hand will walk the whole cabin and greet all OW Emerald passengers and ask if there is anything they can do for you...

Trying to get SC is the reason. The excuse I gave my wife is that the alternatives are worst as I told her only Air Asia & Philippines Airlines fly those routes.

yes I have looked at them on the airport website. My problem is being able to check in at 11pm for a 6:40am flight. I checked on the changi website and can't find MH on the early check-in list of airlines.

You can catch a ferry to Macau or China without going through immigration so I think that it may be possible to get Etihad to get your bags and check it for you, just like the ferry companies. There are airline desk just before you go through immigration after disembarking but can't remember if...

Ok I finally booked my flight: SIN-MNL-KUL-SIN in J with MH. Looking forward to the 240SC. After this trip I only need to get another 470SC before the end of June. With 3 more trips to Asia, 2 to AKL and a few domestic planned I should just make it.

Earn the same SC so that will do me. I may actually be able to re-qual for WP. Only 700 SC to go with 4 months left.

Re: What is the best option to do MEL-MNL-KUL-SIN-MEL? Ok I now need to go to SIN as well. It can be MEL-MNL-KUL-SIN-MEL or MEL-MNL-KUL-SIN-MEL. Try to do multi-city on CX, QF & SQ. All returned ridiculous fairs like $8k. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Just had a look at the pricing. A$900 which is a bit expensive.
