Applied and got conditionally approved after e-mailing pay slips and drivers license. But now they want me to POST/FAX the same documents? This duplication doesn't make sense to me.

Did they actually ask you for this in person/phone or did you just get the docs email that doesn't list the email option?

Cos that email is automatic, and comes regardless of if you have submitted your docs already.

I did not resend them and it was fine.

Well mine has my name on it.....they may cross reference her card with your name on application and say "NO SOUP FOR YOU"

having read through most of the posts, it appears the minimum credit they would give you is $15K for the Signature version. Anyone have experiences of getting it reduced after the account is opened?

Reason being I am getting a new mortgage and as we all know, financial institutions use one's credit card limit as part of determining one's loan service eligibility. A difference of $9K in credit card limit means the debt liability according to them is an additional $225/month.

Really want to get this card......

Applied for the signature card, conditionally approved but need to send in ID and earning historical information. This is the first time I have been conditionally approved by citi as a sole trader so fingers crossed. Thanks for the original link / post to whatmeworry, appreciate your posting thanks...

they seem very unwilling to give you a limit below $15k for signature (ie everyone appears to have such requests refused). perhaps they'd temporarily lower it once you had it, though.

They will not give a limit lower than $15k for Signature - I am going to take a guess, but I think it's a condition of the Signature platform from Visa.

I first got an email with an email option, then after that a second email with no email option.

Is anyone noticing any stalling in the application process? I applied and was conditionally approved on 2nd December.
I received a SMS at some point (can't remember the date, but was after the approval) saying they were having some delays due to a massive volume of apps (haha) and they would contact me again soon

When I check my status on the website all it says is..

We are pleased to advise that your recent application for a Citibank Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature has been conditionally approved.

As a responsible lender, we need to verify your identity and income details. To ensure that we can provide your funds as quickly as possible, please notify your payroll department (or accountant if self employed) and authorise them to confirm your income and identity details when contacted by a Citibank specialist.

Citibank will contact you shortly.

I haven't heard anything since, is there a number to call? Nothing from my accountant either

It took about a month for my approval to come through but still no card (not worried).

It may be of interest to anybody still applying that I own a Pty Ltd company and I am an employee of the company I own - give myself a payslip, group cert. etc so when I applied I did not list myself as self employed because technically I am not. I just happen to be the sole director and shareholder of the company that employs me.

If true, it's strange Visa has such a condition but MasterCard doesn't.

Did they realise this, or are you saying this is the reason it took a month - did they demand to speak to HR then when you told them you were it wanted your accountant?

pretty sure that Visa doesn't have a minimum credit limit for Signature, just a rule that it has to be higher than Platinum and, iirc, that they shouldn't decline transactions that would take you over.

I assume it took a month because of the Christmas season. Never rang asking for HR in fact never rang at all, just emailed. Should they have rang I simply would have put them through to MrsB or one of my staff

sigh, I applied for my card in mid Nov,
went os for a few weeks, got a few missed calls from citibank while I was gone,
on top of the payslips, and ID they wanted a Notice of assement,

gave that, and my app was denied before xmas,

was hoping to get the card sent to me like many others who have had their app denied, but still havent.

I thought my app was very good, $85k, salary, or $95k with rent, no credit enquires, clear credit, one mortgage with $200k loan

not happy jan :(

Hmm I'm interested to see how my application progresses with others being knocked back
