It's overrated, very overrated :-|
Buzzard please enjoy the absolute power of your position!
Found this one to be a bit of a hassle.
Applied for the Signature card in mid December. Was conditionally approved upon receipt of all relevant information, received a few phone calls over the Xmas period about it... firstly to verify some additional income (bank interest)... as I was on holidays and did not want to send bank a/c information to them I told them to scratch it from my application as my employment income alone was more than enough to satisfy the income component. Received a 2nd phone call to say that my specified credit limit was too low and would I be comfortable lifting to the $15k minimum, which I said was fine. Apparently both of these in conjunction made the 1st application void and triggered a new application.
I was subsequently declined for the Signature, but approved for the Platinum (with the same limit!). All seems a bit unusual considering my verified salary was sufficient for the hurdles and I only have one other card at the moment with a $5k limit.
Citi can be very strange sometimes, they hassled my wife for a payslip a while ago, she took a while getting around to it but they kept chasing and in fact eventually approved the card when she hadn't sent it in.I applied for the signature card early November and received my card a couple weeks later. The only issue I had was they called my work to verify my employment. I remember on the application that it said to notify my employer's HR but I didn't know who to contact in my company. I received a call from Citibank that was transferred from my company's switchboard, Citibank said HR needs written approval before they release any details to Citibank. Citibank said just send two latest payslips and I already told them I sent it, he looked up their system and approved my application on the spot.

I thought it did, regarding World Mastercard and same minimum limit? Maybe I'm wrong.
If you ended up with a plat with 15k+ limit then call them back and ask them to look are your application again since you have the minimum limit there is no reason they can't give you the sig... push a bit if you have to....
I got a Platinum card when my limit was $4,000, and a World card when my limit was $5,000. So definitely no limitation other than what the individual bank may require.
Is anyone noticing any stalling in the application process? I applied and was conditionally approved on 2nd December.
I received a SMS at some point (can't remember the date, but was after the approval) saying they were having some delays due to a massive volume of apps (haha) and they would contact me again soon
When I check my status on the website all it says is..
We are pleased to advise that your recent application for a Citibank Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature has been conditionally approved.
As a responsible lender, we need to verify your identity and income details. To ensure that we can provide your funds as quickly as possible, please notify your payroll department (or accountant if self employed) and authorise them to confirm your income and identity details when contacted by a Citibank specialist.
Citibank will contact you shortly.
I haven't heard anything since, is there a number to call? Nothing from my accountant either
Applied for the signature card, conditionally approved but need to send in ID and earning historical information. This is the first time I have been conditionally approved by citi as a sole trader so fingers crossed. Thanks for the original link / post to whatmeworry, appreciate your posting thanks...
Data point: Applied on Friday, last week, already got an alert from "My Veda Alert" so it would seem that my application is "in progress" and they're checking up on me

This is a good idea, but it costs $85, so is there another way to get that access?
