$0 Annual Fee for Life on Citi Platinum/Signature CC Complimentary Insurance

I rang up and had my existing citibank cc changed to signature with no annual fee for life. It was pretty simple.

Glad to hear it was simple for you. I had a completely different experience over more than two months - first no (offered Platinum instead), then maybe, then only if you provide pay slips (did I say I was already a customer? with a CC limit more than the minimum for Signature), then perhaps, then we need confirmation from your pay office (didn't I say this had already been done two years before for the current card? then some attitude from a guy in the back office when I point this out, again), then nothing for two weeks before the card suddenly appeared in the mail. By then I already switched to another card which is now my main CC. So thanks Citibank for the hassle, I look forward to receiving 2x Priority Passes each year for no spend.

I wrote the name and extension of the girl that was handling my latest complaint who I have never heard from again (I was supposed to hear Friday the week before last). But I can't find the bloody note to chase her up. Grrr!
I've now been escalated all the way to the Customer Advocacy department regarding my application. I've successfully had all the unauthorised credit enquiries removed from my file but I'm still battling to get the original offer of credit subject to rolling the limit on my existing card and closing it (which I had initially indicated dissatisfaction with--they considered that to be a refusal). I'm over the 6 month mark since I originally applied under this offer :S

Hi All

Would you please tell what does Citi Signature card show up in your online banking? Does it show Signature or show as "Citi® Visa?

Just got an application approved email today! Weow :) Hopefully this is for real and they honour the F&F offer I applied under!

OTP via app . never worked for me.... I carry the dongle thing they sent me to use!

Great news.... Good stuff....

Hopefully you get a Signature card in the mail....not a platinum ;)

PLANT do you mean you never tried to get it to work or just were unable to ever get it to work? I use the app all over the world - it works perfectly - I would never try to utilise a dongle - just too clumsy IMHO.

I think I had 7 diff SIM cards all from different countries at one point in time - the mobile app just works brilliantly wherever you can get Wi-Fi.

I have the same problem as PLANT. The app used to work before they did that massive upgrade. Now it just fails and my account just gets cancelled and I have to re-enrol as a first time user. I'm using the android version. Shame though the app was pretty decent!

I also recently had a prob with mobile app - but simple solution was to delete app then download it again - that advice came from Citi themselves so I think this is a common fix to this prob.

This worked for me on android too... no more sms pin!

Happy for you Beta4Me! Mine went from call centre rep, to call centre team leader, to customer advocacy, then to 'problem resolution manager'. Still sitting there. They seem to take a long time to reply...

Fingers crossed for you mate! I managed to get everything honoured including the unauthorised/unnecessary credit enquiries removed plus 10,000 points as compensation for being thoroughly screwed around :) Hope you might get something similar!

Was not sure if utilities were NOW an issue like the ATO!

I recently discovered on my CitiBusiness Gold card that my points did not match my spending. When I spoke to the CSA he told me that only retail spend now earns points; if I pay bills they do not earn any points.

Not sure exactly what "bills" includes and the agent wasn't sure either, but I was told that electricity, rates, insurance, etc. do not count as eligible spend. So much for 1.25 points per $, it would average out at much less. So I am getting a WWEDR card for the bills I pay and will restrict the CBG to "retail purchases" until I cancel it.

So in my experience, yes, the electricity bill and ATO are same, same.

Not quite sure why you are keeping it, fairly clear they don't really want you as customers and are determined to devalue the card to a point you give up. Aside from plain old stubbornness it appears a losing game to me!
