10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

FWIW, Today marks 8 weeks since the end of September. Although quite why it is from the end of the month, and not from when the relevant transaction was made is not clear.

Also - that does not explain why some people are getting the bonii either.

Yeah thats what i thought was weird, but apparently he reckons end of each month they are calculated or something. So i will call back after 10 weeks.

That would be tomorrow then.

Also it is factually incorrect as they are posting some points to some people.

Believe not what the CSM advises - believe only when the points are in your account.

To date bonus point status:

  • I have received all 30K bonii for my 59 transactions @10T/5K this month; I have 4 days and another 11 transactions for another 10K.
  • I have received not one of the 30K I should have received in October.
  • I did receive my 10K entitlement in September; but I think this was more to do with luck than anything systematic.

Not sure why disappointing????? as the T&C on the original postcard quite clearly said an 8-10 week delay in posting points (despite that points did post forseveral days early on).

The BP bonus points post immediately, yet there is the compulsory 8-10 week disclaimer as well for that promo.

Zippy7, not everybody's BP points are posting automatically, there was a post in that thread that described the issue.

Notwithstanding, both promo's have their issues, but these promo's are by far the more convoluted than the BP one.

Its obviously not a completely automated process!

I think there is a manual process - Amex told me (after finally getting past their recorded messages) they'd request expeditious deliberations as I have sent them the costs of the holiday I have arranged

Apologies straitman. :D

I called AMEX Membership Rewards and asked them to check my account as i felt the points had dried up and to make sure that i was still on the 5T/5000P and they said i will be getting the points, it just takes 8 - 10 weeks after the end of each month and that i am not capped.

Awaiting the points.
nowork,

No apology needed. I just get frustrated at the waffle level of this thread when most of it is caused by people posting without reading what has already been posted.

At least you now know your situation which is more than some others around here :!:

True...but with the BP promo it has various protections against rorting....

With this one if points posted immediately someone might be tempted to make 1000 $1 tx in a day and transfer the points away.....hence the delay by Amex.

Indeed if the reports are true someone was tempted !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It would not surprise me that one reason why points have not resumed posting is that larger transactors tripa flag and thus have the 8 week delay imposed.

I can see how they want to have the delay, but it's the wait for me (and associated uncertainty) that is the disappointment for me. I don't have an immediate need to spend the points, but it would be nice to see them in the balance :)

You should not have to wait much longer. Otherwise I feel very sorry for the people manning the phones at Amex as the 10 week mark clicks over in December. They will be very tired by the festive season.
Goodness forbid, if Amex did not post all due bonus points within the advised time-frame, one could only imagine the flurry of calls from disgruntled members, such as those from AFF, they would be receiving. What sudden discomfort their call centre would experience if this were to happen on a specific date. According to my calendar, that date 'could' be, 03 December 2009 - exactly 10 weeks after 24 September. I use '24 September' as the cut-off date, because there is nothing in the terms and conditions about the 10 week waiting time being from end-of-month.

Exactly.

Oh and P.S. My 5,000 bonus points stopped posting from 20 November! Up until then, I had received quite a few allocations. Suspiciously, this occurred almost immediately after I transferred a large-ish amount of points out of my MR account. Although I do note that one other member also reported that their bonus points also stopped posting this month...

Can you give us the exact last date you had 5,000 points credited to your account?

btw, I had points mistakenly credited to my QFF (by another amex partner) and reversed. So by same reasoning moving points out of MR may still be reversible later.

Plus Westpac (Erath) recently transferred 15,000 points by mistake to a number of QFF accounts and then later reversed them.

So at least QF is willing to send points back if asked by the CC company.

Westpac did give the affected people 1000 points for the inconvenience, which was a nice gesture I thought.

True...

But methinks that if Amex whips back points from QFF (or other desitinations) because it believes that the cardmember rorted the promo that they will not be so generous ;)

I understand that message it when they are updating your MR account with yesterday's transactions - I've had that a number of times.

Code:
Month Transactions Points Credited Points Owed
September^ 23 5,000 5,000
October 70 0 35,000
November# 80 0 40,000
^ from date of registration (18/9)
# up to and including 24/11, with at least 1 transaction to post from yesterday/today (plus any from my wife). Goal is 90, so I'm well ahead of target

Still no bonus points but I'm a patient man....for 10 weeks from 30 September for the "unposted" September 5K points they owe me, et al

Mine's looking very much the same. Just over 70 transactions for October, only around 17 so far for November, and 0 points have posted. No POC, targeted with post card, signed up on the 18th SEP.

I'm being patient and waiting 10 weeks. I didn't get enough transactions in September to get any points unfortunately, but will be watching closely mid next month to see if my OCT points credit. Amex have confirmed i'm on 10T/5k deal, so I hope they come through. I'm getting impatient when others are having points credit with seemingly no real pattern, rhyme nor reason as to the decision making process for crediting. It's almost as bad as QF's upgrade and seating allocation voodoo:)

Maybe Amex have employed some ex-QF Yield Management staff to run the promotion!
