10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

I think I'd prefer to be getting the 5000 bonuses (I only got 5000 which was poc'd then nothing since) than the extra .5 points!

Depends on how long the Points Accelerator program runs for each person and how much you avail yourself of the bonus; versus the number of 5K bonus points you are given in the fixed term of this bonus offer. Doesn't sound like it's a "this or that" as some are getting piggybacked bonuses (or boni, depending on which one wants to use).

It would be interesting to know what its all about, but I'm not going to dwell on it too much since I'm still getting the 1.5 per $ that was the original T&C of the card.

I think all of us would like to understand just how Amex work out their bonus programs, but agree that it isn't worth dwelling on for too long

Has any other Plat CC holder who was getting 2 MR points per dollar (usual 1 and 0.5 Plat CC bonus, plus a 0.5 "platinum accelarator" since late Sep 08) noticed a change in the crediting?

My account now seems to be getting the usual 1 pt per dollar plus 0.5 "platinum accelarator". There has been no crediting of 0.5 Plat CC bonus for about a week. The effect is the same as usual - 1.5 pts per dollar, but the change seems a bit unusual.

Mine's strange like that. I'm still getting the bonus (to make it effectively 2 points per dollar) but for some reason, it's hit and miss. For example, one merchant I use regularly appears as 1 + .5 + .5 on one transaction, and a few days later it's just 1 + .5 and no bonus .5. Then a few days later, it's back to the 1 + .5 + .5. I don't know what they're on about either. Voodoo :S

Certainly no complaints about the extra 0.5 pt bonus from me. Not that it makes a noticiable difference when considered in light of the 5k or 10k bonuses that are on offer.

To answer edman's query about the $100k limit, this does not apply to me (my spend has been much lower than that). My card is not through CPA, but it is branded through another similar professional association so there may be a degree of common ground.

To appease Lindsay Wilson and for the sake of brevity (ironic in the context of this thread), I won't dwell on it further... Amex will no doubt straighten this out when they get to it.

No appeasing necessary white22, you mustn't have taken my comment in the context to which it was meant - perhaps I needed to have used more smilies to note my true feelings. I meant that it wasn't worth dwelling on because if they can't work out what they are doing, what chance do we have?

Continue to check my account daily, hoping to see a jump in my MR points balance, but still nothing apart from the normal 1.5 points per $. I would have thought they were going through them systematically and updating them - perhaps all of us left are at the end of the alphabet?

Well, a week to go before they 10 week period expires from the end of September, but that can always be extended

Transferred 140k over to Virgin Atlantic today to get the 15% bonus before the cut-off on 30 Nov. That's enough for the upper class tickets I want to book for next year to Hong Kong, but it was close (I had pretty well wiped out my points by transferring to other programs before the Virgin promo started). Lucky I wasn't relying on the 5k bonuses

I'm starting to get really annoyed by all these chops and changes - how hard is it to just credit as promised? Immediately cant be that hard either - the transactions appear so it's just programming.

Bonus points have dried up for a while. I'm a T surname.

I also have the accelerator on mine, so for the moment I'm getting 2pts/$ spent (0.5 due to accelerator + 0.5 due to industry card).

Getting close to 90 transactions for November. 2 coffees a day really helps.

P.S. it's bonuses, not bonii. (Bonii sounds like the plural of bonuses (bonuseses?), or someone with an odd impairment preventing them from saying the word for a delicate Japanese plant.)

I note that the beginning of the Urban Dictionary meanings states:

"The unofficial plural..."

Therefore I stay with either of my versions as being true and correct.
