10,000 bonus points per 20 transactions

I believe they were implying that if you had followed that 'normal' schedule for the month (i.e. in one month you dine out once a week, hence 4 times in a month), that would give you the 20 transactions and you would get 10k points.

Looking at a calendar:
September had 5 Mondays & Tuesdays.
October had 5 Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays.
November had 5 Saturdays & Sundays.
December has 5 Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesday.

That is real, not implying anything.
:D

12 eligible transactions have posted so far this month along with another 5K MR bonii ...

Still missing 30K from October ...

But you have to be prepared to put in the complaint - everyone please consider putting one in. The thing is that the complaints cost Amex REAL money, as they have to fund the complaints (they're charged by the BFSO based on the number of complaints, and how protracted they become). So ultimately it will be in Amex's interest to honour the original promotion T&Cs.

Hopefully, anyway.

I have no doubt that if Amex fail to honour the original T&Cs the complaints will flood in to the BFSO. In my case, my last 5,000 point bonus was paid on 23/9 and my next bonus would have been due (5 more transactions) on 25/9. 10 weeks from that date is tomorrow 4/12. If I don't see at least 5,000 bonus points on Friday morning 5/12, I'll be making a phone call and won't be accepting any cr@p about 10 weeks from the end of the month, (although there's only a few days difference) -- Next stop BFSO.

I'll be doing the same. If I don't see any bonus points by the end of 5/12, then I'll be making the phone call as well, and without resolution, there will be a BFSO complaint lodged on Monday morning.

Essentially what happened is that, after the dust had settled, AMEX decided that they would reinstate the "instantaneous credit" of bonus points to "selected members".

That's quite interesting because I am supposedly on the 5T/5K offer and after 91 transactions for November, I received 9 lots of 5K bonuses during the month, leaving me 45K of points shy of what I should have...

And for December, I have received 2 lots of 5K with a total of 27 transactions. The first lot after 4 transactions and then 2nd lot after 18 transactions LOL!!!!

So in summary;

  • September 17th I signed up as soon as receiving the card in the mail and received 5K on the 19th after 5 transactions. 35 transactions in total till 30th Sept
  • October had me complete 77 transactions for a total of 0 bonus points received
  • November saw 91 transactions completed for a total of 45K points received.
  • December, I have completed 27 transactions for a total of 10K points

  • Total transactions since the promotion started equal 203 but if you take away the ones that didn't allow me to have a multiple of 5 equals 200.
  • I've received 60K of points so my maths says that I am still owed 140K of points (going on the assumptions that every transaction is worth 1K)

I suggest everyone keeps an eye on thier points so that they know if they have been shortchanged. Also, I found that when searching using the dates for transactions, the last possible date I can choose is 5th September... it doesn't allow me to choose earlier than that... so as the month gets closer to an end, I would advise that everyone print our reports... incase they need to dispute anything...

Wouldn't it be great if we were all credited xxK ammount of points tomorrow!!!! :D

ps
28th November was 10 weeks from the 19th September.... and I did not receive any points... although i did receive 5K on the 29th and again on the 30th Nov and then 5K again on the 1st Dec

Indeed it is worth noting that the MR transaction list only goes back 90 days, so will be worth keeping records.

Yes - probably worth doing a "print to PDF" if you can as well - if you need to forward it electronically then this won't be a problem.

I will be PDFing up each month individually - 17th-30th Sept, Oct, Nov, etc. as well as the aggregate so there's no confusion about how much I'm owed in a particular month.

Sorry to sound confused, but would not the printed list on my monthly statement good enough? Or is it a case of easier to forward/print when saved to pdf format...

One point that was reiterated, however, was that the ten week waiting period is taken from the end of month. I suggest to the many members who will be flooding the call centres from 3 - 5 December, to reinforce the fact that this was never stated as a condition, and therefore does not apply.
Sounds fine to me. I was never going to flood the call centre with phone calls if my bonus points did not get credited on the anticipated date.

I am going to sit back, relax, and if bonus points do not post I am going to wait for those who are anxious to call Amex. If enough people call then the non crediting of bonus points will eventually be fixed for everyone. I believe that my MR account is up to date for September so roll on 9 January....

Don't you guys receive paper statements? All the information you need on bonus points is on the paper statements. And just for good measure you can download the online PDFs which have exactly the same information as the paper statement....

Re: 15 days

To expedite things the FOS suggested writing to it and carbon copying Exec Services and Membership Rewards. That saves the FOS playing postman. It also reduces the time Amex can stall things out.

Incidentally Christian at Exec Services says they usually take 15 days (not 30 as per some 'cull' or 'cap' letters !!). Hence I'd prefer to go at once to OS, MR & Exec Services rather than first giving Amex 30 days followed by a complaint to FOS that is followed by more stalling.

remember whe we 1st signed up, it was 6-8wks.
Then it became 8-10. And some ppl also say 8-12 or 10-12.
At this rate, your Dec points may not make the cutoff for QFF transfers next year!
Good to see the knickers knotters are still hard at it :!:

Mine shows 12 months worth... And i can view specific months by filtering.

Don't be too concerned about that. Everyone else that was receiving points during November, including myself, was receiving them at the rate of 10T/5K, even if you were on the 5T/5K promo. I suppose at some stage they'll just have to catch up.

In my case I need to add about a week.

Reason being was that I was awarded points for tx till Sep23 for all 3 promos. Therefore I was "overpaid" by 100% as my postacard and confirmed rate is 5K/5....and so I will be in "credit" for about a week after Dec 4.

After that I will be owed bonus points.
