I got my points posted yesterday but no bonus applied. However all caught up this morning. I have 50,000 points in the 5 for 5 offer. Don't panic, it may well catch up tomorrow.

Not entirely sure about that. Something has changed. I had a run of three days with the bonuses and standard MR points posting around 9:05AM. Yesterday MR points posted around 2PM and no bonuses were applied. Today no MR points posted at 9:05 so I expect the normal MR points to post around 2PM and I dont expect any bonus points to post.

In reality it looks like there is no uniform pattern to what is occurring.

My normal points credited this morning, along with the bonus points (per 5 transactions), and I am above 10,000 points.

Yesterday it wasnt till mid afternoon that points showed up, but they did.

And yes, I did recieve a card for the 5 for 5 promotion and have been credited every 5 transactions since registering.

that is what happened to me, but it caught up 24 hours or so later.

Well, today is the first day that I seem to have racked up 5 eligible transactions but no bonus points have been awarded.

Whether this means that the breaks are being applied or it's just a delay in awarding the points / processing the transactions remains to be seen....

Before you star abusing people for their posting of what has occured to them how about some fact gathering first???:idea:

Now for those interested in FACTS:

• I did receive some bonus points from the promotion this morning.
• The points that were posted now have me in excess of 40,000.
• BUT looking at my detailed transaction points statement there were NONE shown for the 24/09/08 (ie no Promotional points in 5000 increments). Only the normal points at 1.5 earn rate were shown. Prior to this some points had posted on each day (though it took several days for the first days to appear).
• So my guess is that as sometimes transactions take several days to post given that the Promotion Points I received this morning were from slow posting transactions from spend from the 17th to the 23rd.

My guess is that as of that spend on the 24th that the original T&C of points not being awarded for 8-10 weeks have now been imposed. But that any slow posting transactions of 23 and earlier may still see some gain points today, or later.

However it could also mean suspension of the Promotion...or on hold while AMEX consider their position?


Of the people that had point post this morning...on your transaction record did the points post with a date of 24 Sep ( I have none on that day despite enough spend), or only on dates of 23 Sep and earlier?

Been thinking for a while
40k points is a nice gift, 10k limit/mth means only 1 entry/mth for 1st 2 promos and 2 entries for the 5k/5 promo. In that sense it will kinda defeat the purpose of the promo as people will not be trying to use their card 'more'. As for me, I'm going to cut back on eating out again, since I don't need to eat out to hit the cap and I can save money bringing lunch. If they had eg 30k limit/mth this would actually give an incentive to change spending habits while still holding back super-users.

I was able to get into my account today on the mobile broadband.

So far, I got 30,000 bonus points as of yesterday-all transferred to SPG so my current level is under 500 MR points.

7 transactions posted this morning and they are showing up with the 1.5 MR usual rate but no 5000 bonus. 7 transactions should have gotten at least another 5000 and I am trying to get as many as possible before the SPG rate goes back to 330.

My ITunes transaction $3.29 was purchased last Friday, invoice emailed to me on Monday, posted to my account thismorning and I got 2 MR points.

I can confirm too that I haven't rec'd 5k bonus points from yesterday. My last bonus was on 19th and NO I haven't been doing dodgy split bills.

So I guess the 10k cap is now implemented.

I suspect that anyone who does will be referred to the T&Cs. Specifically the one about points taking 8-10 weeks to post.

Dear file51 I regret to inform you that we have retrospectively changed the T&Cs of this frequentflyer promotion and through abuse of the system and people threatening to take legal action we are required to introduce a cap on your bonus points award. However, we cannot decide how much this cap will be or when we will give you further information.
