Is someone able to post the text of the postcard with the T&C for this promotion?

It is in the OP.

See at the bottom.

This deal is by the way....WAY WAY too generous.

I can't help thinking that Amex will have no choice but to say that it was only intended for those it sent the Postcards to. Otherwise this is going to cost Amex a ridiculous amount of points and in turn dollars.

I came across the MYREWARD code on another site, ozbargain (as mentioned in this thread) and wanted to share it with everyone here.

So here are my questions:

  • What is the lowest annual fee card with amex eligible for MR points? and do you have to pay a joining fee for membership rewards?
  • Does it matter if your a new card holder?
  • People have been talking about the qantas sweep stopping on MR - is that true - if I got a card would I be able to transfer my MR points to my QFF account?
  • Or is there a better FF program listed that I should channel points to?

Sorry to quote myself... Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the above. I think I can get a gold choices CC for $49 annual fee and then register for one of the promos.... I might make a call to amex to check what is the lowest annual fee card with MR points.

I want to transfer the points to my QFF account - but I thought Amex was moving away from MR points to direct sweep CCs? Is this true? And if so when does this kick in?

Cheers.

For existing cardholders, the cut-off is in March next year I think. Unfortunately for new cardholders I believe it's already too late.

I have managed to sign up for all 3 promotions. I would be happy if I received 40,000 MR points at the end of the promotion. Wait and see....

A big thumbs up to American Express (who I think) have the balls to be aggressive in creating these extravagant offerings!

Yes its going to cost Amex some $$$$ initially but apart from the current cardholders, I am sure there are bound to be hundreds, if not thousands, of new card holders signing/jumping onto the AE band wagon and earn heaps of points from this promo.

This would make the new customer a happy-chappy in 2008 and stick with an Amex card down the track & hence more commission to Amex in future years to come.

Very smart marketing promo IMO.

You're right. There's also the possibility that they're trying to promote Membership Rewards over the QANTAS cards - perhaps as part of QANTAS dropping out of Membership Rewards - to keep people in MR rather than the QF cards.

Well, I think a lot of CC companies throw things at new members - that just encourages the "churners" to switch from one card to the next to get discounts and free stuff.

Offering something to existing card holders would, possibly, be cheaper and encourage greater brand loyalty.

Is there any way, aside from ringing up, that you can check which promotions you are signed up for? I think i may have signed up for both of them and only want one (just in case they can both...)

someone might missed my post, here, read once more plz.

i don't want get people disappointed , but you can't have all 3 codes at the same time. this has been confirmed with a rep from Amex on the phone.

therefore you need to ring Amex, and clearly ask them to put you on the reward you want.

please pass this around.

I've registered for all three as well.. I'll wonder if they triple up or not?? at 100+ transactions a month.....

EDIT: just saw the post above... drats!

I have registered for all 3 promotions. Just which one we will get is anyones guess. Why is there a need to call customer service?

By the way I just tried registering for the MYREWARD promotion again and it detected that I was already registered.

You have already registered for this bonus. No further action is required

I've seen in the past where you can register for multiple bonuses at once. I'm still hoping this might be the case, so in anycase I'm not calling up!

Wow.. I thought I was joining a community here, not a witch hunt.

Don't worry about it. I think everyone is very sceptical of the offer as it is almost too good to be true. And when it's too good to be true...

I have just rang AMEX and be asked to be put on the "myreward" promotion. Even the CSO said that this is a better deal than the "earnpoints" promotion that I had signed up previously. No questions asked. Unfortunately, you are not able to backdate to the date of the 1st signed up or to the transactions from 1 sept. Transactions made today will be applied to the promotion.

At this stage I am just going to leave things as they are. I know I will put around 40 transactions a month through so I might nab 50-60k points bonus between now and ameXmas ;)
