Yes, pretty much. I actually traded the whole $450 on the grounds that it maximised my chances of recouping some of the brokerage fee if the price went up, but clearly that could also have magnified a loss. Thanks, That's good. Does this sum it up : deposit $500 (?) and do a trade for $90 + (?).
How hard's the signup? Is there a lot of FATCA ID point business?

Ridiculously easy. Took about 60 seconds - literally. No ID was requested. Not sure how that's possible to be honest, but there you go.
Where's the QFF entry spot? I went through and registered, but this other page says nothing about the 10k

I've done something similar in that I've bought shares but not sold them (as per my understanding of the T&Cs). Completed this transaction last Friday so waiting to see when the points are posted.Anybody else had points post for this yet (and how quickly)?
I've opened an account, filled in details on the Qantas signup page, loaded some credit, bought some shares and withdrawn my left over dollars. I haven't sold the shares yet (didn't think that was part of the terms and conditions but have others done this for IG to consider it a "trade")?
Bought the shares 21/11.
I bought and sold immediately and 10025 points came through today.
and within an hour of posting my message above the points came through!
Will you get points for this though? Or will they treat it as a cash advance? Perhaps by going through Paypal they won't? I guess if you're only loading the minimum $450 and therefore only paying a $4.50 fee, it's not exactly a big risk either way.
For those that have done this - does this post as a cash advance?
